Reviews of Tradewinds Global Logistics
"Believe me, this is a sorry place to work for. Terrible trucks and trailers. Rates are extremely low and the dispatch (except Jessie) are hard to work with. Do not consider this company. Why is it after every poor review, however comments the reviews always has a smart mouth. Proof that this company sucks big time."
"I was there 2 months, in 2 trucks, both trucks in constant need of repair! 1st truck wasn't horrible, an automatic Prostar, recovered from wrecker yard in Pittsburgh PA, air leak around the foot valve repaired twice, while leak kept moving to something else in same area, still leaked! Then truck's water pump developed a small leak, so I had to keep a close eye on coolant and add as needed until I could get into a dealership as that was warranty from they're buying truck from Werner! The water pump was extremely back ordered and would take close to a month to get repairs done (according to repair shop)! 2nd truck, 2014 cascadia I recovered from a dealership in Canonsburg PA promised it was ready to go! The bill wasn't paid for the truck, the batteries had to be jumped twice while I was there, signs under truck ofmild oil leak, passenger seatbelt was in middle of floor, truck was extremely dirty! I bobtailed it to company shop 300 miles away, to get batteries replaced with mix-matched batteries, no repairs on oil leak, inverter installed (I think improperly), fridge too big for any securement just placed in middle of floor taking almost all the floor in sleeper, passenger seat belt not installed (according to tech, he didn't know about that one, even though it was in middle of floor by stick shift)! I couldn't shut truck off for any reason for the 3 weeks I was in it without having to call breakdown and get a jump! Dispatch seemed to never start looking for brokered loads until after I got empty, even though they did tell me they were looking since getting loaded! I may have had a load booked that I knew of 2-3 times in the 2 monts I was there, otherwise I was always waiting after delivery completed sometimes hours after to get a load! Pictures included are of how the cascadia looked when I arrived to recover it! They did offer me a rental car to get to orientation with my ESA dog, to recover both trucks, and a nice sign on bonus though! Communication was almost in-existant between driver and almost anyone in office, breakdown/maintenance included!"
"Update as of Jan 25 2022, it's been over 70 ADDITIONAL business days AFTER the 90 business day wait time for my escrow check to be mailed out to me. I have called and emailed Adam Blake dozens of times trying to get my escrow balance of $1440.44 that is owed to me back in September. I was able to get the number and email to Adam's superior, Mathew Deck and called and emailed him as well, CCing Mathew Deck's superior Brian Cook and also called him multiple times as well. Over the past 70+ ADDITIONAL business days I have been able to speak to Adam TWO times, once in early November stating that he had "mailed a check October 22" which I never received, Adam said he would cancel the check and mail a new one immediately and the second time in early December I STILL had not received the replacement check and replied to an email I sent saying he didn't mail it and would by the end of the week. As of today, I have NOT been able to get this issue resolved or been able to speak with ANYONE. They are leaving me with VERY few options left to resolve this in house with Tradewinds themselves. Soon to be legal matters with them if not resolved soon. As I have previously reviewed, BEWARE if you are to work here."
"At first they seemed to be great, gave off that small company feeling, knew you by name and seemed to be the kind loving Christian people they claim to be... HOWEVER. Natasha the recruiter had emailed me pictures of the truck I was supposed to be purchasing and looked great in the photos until I came down to sign my contract and they did a bait and switch on me (red flag 1). Truck 3143 is what they ended up offering me while the nicer truck was parked next to it telling me it was now unavailable. Against my better judgment I accepted it, the interior was absolutely abused from POS drivers, there was a laundry list of mechanical problems I found once I started to drive the truck. Carl the maintenance manager told me he would disregard the 30 day warranty and make it all right because he did not believe in screwing a driver over like that. He tried to do as little as possible which was evident and the second the 30 days was up he told me he would not honor what we had discussed (red flag 2). I immediately called in saying I was giving truck 3143 back to them and threatened to quit because it was wrong to lie about doing the right thing and fixing the equipment when it was noted during the 30 days. They begged and pleased for me to stay and offered me a loaner truck through hogan leasing at the same cost as truck 3143. Truck 197027 was fine.... at first. The batteries went out on it, and then the ac went out, interior lights did not work etc and this was a 2018 tractor. I was offered another truck and was waiting on truck 3155 to be fixed so I could begin a new lease purchase with that and was ran around by their mechanics who did NOT want to do their jobs in the slightest and did the absolute bare minimum and extremely poor quality work. After 3 weeks they finally fixed the new truck 3155 and told me I was good to come and get it. I drove back down to indy from Michigan to get it at about 12am, I got in the truck and the batteries were shot, and the DEF system was causing problems. I waited until they came into work and put the truck in the shop without even being able to leave their yard. I wanted to get a rental and go home but they begged and pleaded once again for me to stay. They offered to pay for my hotel room and offered 500 dollars to wait until the next day for the truck to be finished (once again, against my better judgment I accepted the offer.) The following afternoon truck 3155 was "fixed" and I was able to take a split load 30 min away, after delivery my ac went out on the truck and the DEF lights and all 3 check engine lights came BACK ON. I couldn't even make it out of metro Indianapolis without their truck breaking down yet again. I called in to their dispatch on Friday and said their truck was broken yet again and I would be heading home until the truck was fixed properly finally. I waited the following week until Thursday when I received an email from a guy named Matt saying he doesn't think they can get their trucks to me specs (literally all I want is for the truck to operate properly and the ac to work and be a legal truck, it isn't that much to ask for.) They waited the day before I was supposed to get a settlement of over $1400 and said it would be mailed to me. I waited 3 weeks to get my check until I called them and was given the run around about it and a guy named Adam was on vacation and payroll can't issue final checks only he can. Almost a month after I left I was able to get ahold of Adam, where he began to rattle off all sorts of numbers and began dwindling my positive final settlement down to zero. He has not sent me ANY proof of what he is claiming and told me to take his word for it. They are amongst the most shady, down right dirty, crooked company I have seen. The negative reviews about this place are absolutely true. A lot of the positive ones are the office staff trying to boost their rating. I can NOT speak for the company driver side, only the lease purchase and BUYER BEWARE. Their trailers are absolutely abused and refuse to fix them."
"I just started as a lease/purchase driver. The pay is worth the trouble. Some of the trucks are raggedy and should have been traded in a long time ago, but, there are some nicer trucks. There are usually always someone who will take your phone call, or, return your call. I am grateful for the opportunity to be able to lease/purchase my first truck. I came in with absolutely no money in my pocket. When I needed money to eat, they have given me cash advances. Tradewinds Logistics is a caring company. On second thought, I change my mind. I had been requesting to be put back in truck 7428 for quite some time, but, it seems like your mechanics aren't getting paid enough to do their job correctly, or, they just don't care. Willy had said that 7428 was fixed and ready for me to take to get an alignment done. The place I took 7428 to have the alignment done, showed me the reason why the alignment could not be done. It seems that the kingpins were not fixed as Willy stated. In the meantime, I'm stuck in 7394, that had no paneling, or, curtains. I asked Willy for a new mattress for 7394. Willy then suggested that I take the mattress out of 7428. 7394 had really loose steering. David told me to pack my things and find my own way home. It was like he didn't care if the truck was fixed and road safe. I took the truck anyway, all because I needed a job. David needs to learn how to drive these trucks so he can get a better idea of how the trucks handle. David needs to listen to the drivers, instead of taking the word of the mechanics."
