Reviews of High Ore Line Trail
"This trail is 3.1 miles long and is an easy ride. The last mile, which is the Red Mountain trail, has more incline, but it is still very moderate. It is all paved and is very accessible for the whole family, including a tricycle style, for the elderly or handicapped. It is a scenic path through the trees, crossing roads and railways. It's advertised that it closes at dusk, and you probably wouldn't want to be there after dark anyway."
"The trail is very nice and peaceful. If they trim the trees and put more benches out for the walker's it will be perfect."
"As a hiker/walker I can only give 4 stars. Rail to trail is great but rail tracks are built as straight as possible and with slopes 2% or less. That is fantastic for roller skates and all kinds of rolling equipment, but walking (slowly) for several miles without much change of scenery can be a bit boring. Other than that it is a an easy walk but I believe that it took 15000 steps from Red Mountain Park (RMP) parking to Midfield and back. The stretch from RMP to Wenonah road has an ungodly number of mimosa trees while the trail from Wenonah to the actual beginning of the trail is not really marked or blazed. I loved the mature hackberries, elm, and maples and being 30 feet above the surrounding landscape. Well done and unfortunately underutilized. Give it a try but bring a field guide to bridge boring passages of the trail with fun taxonomy."
"I enjoy this trail! It is great for walking, running, jogging, and biking. It is a naturalist paradise!"
"I loved walking the dog with my wife last fall. There was enough people and bike riders to chat with to make it feel safe. I wish I walked it more often."
