"I was a dedicated route driver for ist for about 3 months before being terminated. I was terminated because i called out sick once, called out a 2nd time after i was robbed and had to file a police report and replace my dot paperwork that was stolen, and told them i would not be available to work a saturday on a monday-friday job position. I was then told NO call outs were allowed within the 1st 6 months, even though both were valid reasons, and i was told that i "refused dispatch" on a day we didnt normally work to begin with. During my time there, i was also supposed to recieve a sign on bonus, and from the beginning i was told the only qualifications were "no accidents and no tickets" during the 3 and 6 month period to qualify. After my termination however that changed, to "no call outs, no tickets, and no accidents" they offered me a 1500/wk guarantee, whether i worked or not, as long as i was available for dispatch. But when i would run extra or have detention, if a load were to cancel, then the extra run or detention would be put toward that guarantee. As for the equipment they provided, lets just say this, from the first day i got the truck and brought it from hammond to terre haute, the abs and traction lights came on before i even got to the highway. After about a month, both engine lights came on and stayed on constantly, and it took over a month for them to finally fix that, and only that. They disregarded the trailer abs, truck abs lights, they disregarded the truck itself loosing coolant, and the broken hood prop under the hood. Dont work for these people, there are much better jobs out there, where youll actually be treated good. Im glad im no longer with these people, since they had been screwing me every step of the way. Also, side note, the 2 days that i had called out and was "written up" for even though they never told me i was written up, the loads ended up canceled anyway. Our reciever would cancel 2-3 days a week every week."
