"I have use Shields Septic Tank & Hardware for years and have always been very pleased with the service performed however, today is totally different. Last Monday, April 12, 2021 I went to Shields in Helena, Ms. to make an appointment to have my septic tank pumped out the following Friday. I was told that due to my location I would be the first stop they would make on Friday morning. My wife did not work that day so she could be home when they arrived. No one came so I returned to the store at 4:30 Friday evening to see if there was a misunderstanding about the address or appointment time. At first I was told they had forgot to write down my information but I reminded them that I was standing there face to face when it was written down. He finally found the information and said that the driver of the truck had overlooked the appointment, which is understandable because mistakes do happen, and that he would have the guy come to the house later Friday evening or Saturday morning before noon so my wife did not work again on Saturday. Again it was a no show. They finally came today Monday. April 19. 2021. I had previously dug up the septic tank and even removed the septic tank lid to make the job easier for them. I had to work today and did not get home until 4:30 pm. Upon arriving home the first thing I noticed was the septic tank was still the way I had left it. I asked my wife if they had come to pump out the tank and she said they had but also said they would not cover the tank back up, no reason given for not covering it up. We were charged full price which includes them digging whatever is necessary to remove the tank lid . pumping the tank out and recovering the tank. It wasn't much work to uncover it for them, but when they refuse to do what they were paid to do is totally unacceptable and shows no appreciation for the work that was done to make their job easier."

"I called them to see if they can fix the issue we're having with our septic system. Sam said he'd come out and look, after several calls back I finally got him to come look at it. I agreed to the price, I told him to schedule it. Well that day came and went, they were a no show. I called them to reschedule, and they didn't show again. I tried to call back several times with no answer. I'm sure they're screening my phone calls because they don't want the work. if you can't do the work just be honest and tell the customer. Shields use to be a good company, not sure what happened but they have horrible service now. I definitely wouldn't recommend!"
