Reviews of Best Choice Fieldhouse
"This has to be the worst place in the state of Indiana to play basketball. I have never in my life seen such poor referring. The refs do not care. A child is going to get injured because of the lack of care that this entire facility has. And the management is as terrible as the refs they hire. I would absolutely think twice before you enroll your team to play here."
"Horrible both times we went there. Then took it up with management and got patronized. He made jokes the whole time. -1st time the short ref was either high or about to fall asleep because his eyes were rolling back & losing balance. He missed half the calls because he literally couldn't see straight. -2nd time the tall lanky one was just sitting on a bench eating a snack for at least 2min while the ball was live, was staring at the floor/other courts, and even missed a flagrant foul while bending over a trash can snorting a loogie. The coach even filmed it because it was so ridiculous. How are we paying $7 per person for this garbage..."
"Honestly, an embarrassing facility. Allows teams to come in without enforcing discipline during and after games. Referees are simply collecting a pay check and could care less about the game. Sad to to see, but simply doesn't stack up against other local facilities."
"Unreal the price for admission especially for parents who’s child wouldn’t even be able to play if it wasn’t for me and all the money I’ve already paid. Unreasonable, unrealistic especially for single parents in this economy!! I sat in my car and cried and could not even watch one of my sons AAU games because I couldn’t afford to get in one day!!! Everything I s absurd the prices for parents to get in . This should legitimately be illegal! They are robbing parents and spectators. Professional sports games do not even cost this much to get in. I will continue to spread the word on this terrible facility. My son and my family will never ever be back after this year! I refuse to give this crooked scamming place my hard earned income! And the staff are rude, ghetto and had attitudes. Not worth $2 to get in."
"Basketball refereeing here is super subpar. I greatly prefer the PAC or Fitch Creek if you desire refs that care. Also, the snack selection is nearly zero and vending machines are usually empty. My son played there yesterday and twisted his knee and there was NO ONE to help (concessions and 1st aid were closed) or provide any assistance what so ever. My husband had to resorsefully get our son a bag of ice by himself.... Also, the bathrooms are typically broken in some way (missing doors or broken toilet seats) or out of soap. Yesterday the restrooms were abnormally clean with soap, I will admit. Unfortunately parents don't get to choose where our kids play, it's determined by the league. Although our league is wonderful, the misery of the dismal Referee staff at Worst Choice, as my husband and I aptly call it, really ruins most of the fun of the season. They really need to record a sample of games and watch the unbelievably poor and/or blatantly biased calls made by some of their staff. There are a few good ones here and there, but they don't seem to be often assigned to our teams. Also, no joke, one refree stole my son's ball this past summer. He took our ball after the game after choosing to use my son's ball for the game. By the time my son was done changing his shoes and packing his bag, he realized his ball was gone. I was livid and called, but noone answers the phone EVER at Worst Choice. Thankfully my husband found the ball a couple weeks later (during a game) and walked onto the court and took it back. (It had our name and phone number on it). The referee had the gall to tell my husband that he "has like 70 balls like this is home, and what's the big deal, man"....so we don't have 70 at home (we are not thieves), and we just want my sons ball back that has his freaking name on it,,,geesh. Honestly, as I typed this, I changed my rating from a 3 to a 1, as I remember how angry this place makes us. I did like the entry ticket guy that was friendly, but he seems gone now."
