"I had been experiencing periodic back pain and pain and weakness shooting down my right leg for 2-3 years. The symptoms would come and go and I had to be careful what I did in the gym.and in spite of that, I was jogging during a class which caused a major exacerbation of the symptoms. This time I had to seek treatment and I remembered seeing a billboard for the handsome spine surgeon rated as best in the region so I made an appointment. His first course of treatment was focused on the acute pain and inflammation so I had a 5 day medication of prednisone which was very effective, however, when I stopped taking them, the symptoms returned. Another medication was tried as well as a course of PT, but neither provided relief and I had to quit my job. During my next appointment, Dr Hyder fully explained my options as well as asking me to obtain another opinion. He also explained that based on my MRI, injections would pose a risk. On yet another visit, Dr Hyder consulted with my wife and I and explained in detail what surgery he would recommend and what to expect during and after surgery. All professionals that he consulted with and showed my MRI were amazed I was still walking at all. We made the decision to have the surgery for the stenosis in 3 areas in my lumbar spine. The surgery was minimally invasive and there was a large team of professionals present. I’m not going to lie; the first several days were ruff, however, 5 days post op I was independent with toileting , getting in and out of bed and ambulating all over the house with a cane. I credit this amazing recovery to the skilled hands of Dr Hyder. I have no symptoms that were present prior to surgery. Dr Hyder and all of his staff are rock stars in my eyes!"
