Reviews of Painting with a Twist
"UPDATE: uhhh. Just that reply doesn't seem to address the fact that consent for photos wasn't asked for first, in a private building, with the windows blocked. Like, my spouse and I paid, we're not free advertising on Facebook for you. The person I talked to said that they go on Facebook but "not out," uhmm, look, putting it on Facebook IS out. Facebook is a cyclical cesspool of emotional immaturity and hatred, so it's quite rude to want to just willy nilly put me there without my CONSENT. And I don't know how private that page is, but if ANYBODY can see that page... then anybody could then screenshot the image, and Viola! it's out. And then you completely voided any reason for the windows to be blocked, while disrespecting privacy -- basically just like Facebook. To explain it differently: It felt like like using a "free" VPN, where those scrape your data for selling, as the payment. (But they'll protect your data from anyone else, so it's technically more valuable information since they have the only copy. And people don't read terms and agreements that state the free VPN sells their information, so they act more freely and get more personal, which is more valuable, since they're under an assumption of privacy.) Except, we paid money for this, and indulged in alcohol which can cause someone to act more freely. But then the photos happened, and it all just started to feel like a sleazy set-up. Like "Come laugh at these drunk people painting, on Facebook" If you're going to start taking photos of the whole class, you need to ask the whole class if they're okay with their photo taken AND posted on their Facebook. Which you did for a whole class panorama. Oh, and asking for CONSENT from someone, while they're under some influence like alcohol, puts you into a legally grey area of "altered mindstates." So, my spouse bought tickets, for us both so I don't know if something was slipped into any terms and conditions. But "permission to take photos" is usually a separate checkmark online, for people who like to keep their business morally okay. Otherwise, it's hidden in that thing people don't read, or can't read if someone else bought the tickets. So you really ought to have a form to fill out at the counter when you arrive sober. _____ I don't enjoy how there wasn't any asking for consent to take photos taken randomly, for them to be uploaded online. After taking a round of them, did someone start asking for permission, like.that matters now. That just feels dirty, especially if people are going to be silly and intoxicated, or painting something they don't want just anybody to see. Do better. Be like the Carmel location, which didn't randomly take photos. but the painting stuff was nice. just not even uploading photos to this review cause of that noise."
"My birthday celebration at painting with a twist was amazing. The instructor was awesome. This is my second year going there and it won't be the last. I highly recommend for an occasion or just to get out and do something fun. FYI you don't have to be a painter"
"Stopped in for the first time on Sunday and I have mixed feelings about my experience. I thought the instructor Kaitlyn was personable but could have given more instruction. My painting didn’t come out exactly how I hoped but it’s not terrible, which i understand is my own shortcoming. Also, at the end when paying for my drink, this lady asks if I want to tip Kaitlyn - literally in front of Kaitlyn and the other guest in the room - I thought that was embarrassing and distasteful."
"Had a wonderful time! Very simple for any level artist even if you've never painted before!"
"The staff was super nice and helpful, everyone was kind and accepting regardless of the level or skill you're at. Julia was very professional and kind, would totally go back for a date night!"
