"My kids have been attending there for three years. Teachers have no filter when they talk to the kids. The only reason why I didn't let my kids go back to IMSA west is because of their uniforms were high for me to pay for four, But after last school year I would work 2 jobs for their uniforms as I did before I let them go back to vision academy. Back to school night was very unorganized I didn't even get to meet the teacher because it was so chaotic. The principal was so rude and unprofessional when I was going back to pick up my kids headphones that they completely lost and to mention they didn't even give me the $120 worth of school supplies I brought. They didn't even acknowledge that I was speaking to them except Mr Rainer. My kids completely adored him and I thank him for being kind to my children and the Kindergarten teachers were amazing. I transferred them to IMSA west and they remembered my kids, The needs of my daughters learning, before and after care that accepts ccdf (vision academy doesn't) and they actually teach the kids and not sit them in front of a computer screen with the teacher sitting there. Also they don't get food poisoning from the school or the cafeteria worker telling my 11 year old daughter she is glad they bring their lunch because it's one less tray she has to make. Who does that? Very unprofessional school I hope for those kids sake they can get that together. And actually get staff that have a filter and actual love for the kids. BTW Ms Finch at the front desk is AMAZING. She does care for the kids and getting them everything they need to start the school year off. Sorry about the rant but I am over this school."
"My kids have been going to Vision Academy for almost 4 years now and we love this school. I love the communication between staff and parents. The administration team is awesome!!!"
"This school deserves NO STARS. Teachers are a revolving door. 3rd grade teachers are verbally abusive. The principal does nothing about it. Kids get demerits for shirts being untucked on playground. They aren't allowed to talk during dismissal. My daughter used the bathroom on herself in class because teacher wouldn't let her go. 3rd grade teacher Ms. Miller intimidated my daughter by getting in her face because she peaked out the classroom door to see if I was coming. She is very mean also, she taped a pencil to a student's desk because he kept losing his pencil. 3rd grade teacher Ms. Alcime called my daughter dumb. I told the principal Ms. Parsons about it she told me the teacher doesn't recall saying that. My daughter also told me that Ms. Alcime was checking her word work that my daughter said she was done with. The teacher Alcime told my daughter no you aren't done you don't know all these words if you did you wouldn't be in here, making reference to her being retained. The school does a poor job helping students who may need help. The teachers are the tutors. No outside help. They aren't taking advantage of the money and resources given to them to help and enhance learning. No money goes back into the children. Last year us parents thought 8th grade was going to be on a mega bus to go to kings island instead they pulled up in a regular yellow school bus. Well what did I pay for then them dry turkey sandwiches they gave them. The school also totally ignored my parental right to have say so in my Child's Education when they retained her based on not passing Iread a new law Indiana has adopted. Us parents knowo our children and the school didn't care about the affect their decision had on my daughter this year. We have been with this school since ground break and I've given them multiple chances to get better and show that they actually care about the education and well being of my children. They have not only failed my children They no longer have my support. You have to draw the line somewhere. I wouldn't recommend anyone send their children to this school if it were the last school on earth. It's very sad to say but it's true . This school deserves ZERO STARS"
"This school has horrible lunch they dont choose wisely on lunch ladies i have found a hair in my food one day i ask for cups it had hair and dirt in it when we found foriegn objects in our food they said eat our it this happened on many occasions then they dont care about what substitute teacher they choose we had one that was racists"
"The staff & teachers are good people. I just wish there was better communication with the teachers. Last year we had class dojo, which allowed us better communication. This year they have live school. No way of communicating with them online. I have had many questions for my child's teacher, but had to wait until parent/teacher conference to speak to the teacher. Please bring back class dojo so we can have better communication with the teachers. It is hard to take time off of work."
