Reviews of Gary Lighthouse College Preparatory Academy
"Please don’t send your child here I wish I would’ve knew what I know now, they always fighting, kids bring guns to school, the principle is a liar and doesn’t care of the well being of the school, the Dean has a terrible attitude and very aggressive attitude"
"Please don’t send your child here, no opportunities at all, very unorganized, and this school didn’t have any teachers!!!! Needs to be shut down or clean house!"
"I definitely do not recommend bringing your child to this so called “school.” This is my first year coming and the experience was terrible. There were barely any teachers and the principal was no where to be seen. Scholars were always in the lavatory vaping and so as the hallways. I haven’t seen not 1 dean stop them and take it out of their custody. This “Lighthouse college prep academy” is surely not college preparing what’s so ever. I will say, the vice principal always informed us students by sending emails. She always kept us up to date in my opinion. Since school is starting back, no one has emailed or sent voicemails to parents. We have to somehow find out through children that attends the “school.” For example, uniform. Of my knowings, we was told at orientation that uniforms were optional. Now, I’ve been hearing people left and right saying uniforms are mandatory. Thats not really the problem. Parents done already went out and already got their child clothing just to hear this. Some parents are already struggling as it is. I assume you guys will at least offer school uniform shirts like you guys did before. There was lack of communication. Kids didn’t find that out until kids starting posting about it. My parents haven’t gotten a email or anything. As of teaching, I hope the teachers there actually knows what they are doing instead of giving students the answers. Thats not good teaching at all now is it. That school doesn't take us seriously at all. Hopefully they'll come to realize on how much they need to fix. I will say, some of the teachers do take their jobs seriously and some don't. HOPEFULLY it is now teachers who care and deans who do their jobs the correct way."
"Please don’t send your child to this school it’s very unorganized, unprofessional and dirty. You have staff coming to the school drunk, principal always m.i.a and the deans think they can disrespect and rough handle everybody. The education here is very poor you would barely get to know anything because half Of the school is filled with subs. It’s roaches in the classroom, gym and etc. also, we have to sit On our busses until 7:10 to actually get into the school. The attitudes of the staff is very poor and you also have the subs vaping in the classrooms too. Over all this is not a real highschool it will never be. They don’t have real opportunities there for you and if you try to get out the school they will hold some of your information."
"This high school have zero opportunities for a child to be able to blossom and become the best them. They are very unorganized. They show lack of respect for the students but expect to be respected. This school I don’t recommend you sending your child to this place."
