"I love Oak Farm because most teachers were so nice to us, my favorite were the UE1 teachers (love you guys!). I hope to continue going here through high school, also PE is AWESOME. btw the food is not always the best kinda dry, but other than that awesome."
"18 years ago I toured Oak Farm Montessori with my husband and we agreed that we couldn't imagine sending our children anywhere else. Three children later, I decided to obtain my own Montessori teaching certificate as I had fallen in love with the philosophy and education the school provides. My experience, both as a parent and faculty member, has been life changing in understanding the importance of respect and empowerment of each individual child."
"My problem with Oak Farm is the lack of diversity and inclusion. Oak Farm will boast their student to teacher ratio, retention rate and student success while putting little effort towards diversity. My children attended oak farm for a couple of years before unexpected life events made it unsustainable. The last three years, I have been trying to get them back into Oak Farm and have been told by the admissions director that I am on the waiting list. Last year, my daughters were number 8 on the list. This year, I was once again told that there were other families ahead of me, while personally knowing families who have been accepted with little to no wait. I met with the head of the school to express my concerns and found that we were never really being considered as she now stated my children had behavioral issues. My daughters friend, like most kids, had similar age appropriate behaviors and still attends oak farm. If these “behaviors” were so bad why weren’t they brought to my attention at the time? Even more troublesome is the fact that they use my sons picture on their website to give the illusion of diversity when they made it obvious that the standard for minority children attending their school is much higher than the bar set for their white peers. While I will always respect the efforts of Oak Farms wonderful teachers the lack of efforts by administration to value diversity and inclusion is very disappointing."
"DON'T SEND YOUR CHILD HERE I went here when I was 3-4 and I still remember how bad it was. First of all the teachers were mean and made me sit in a dark closet when I did something "bad" (like playing with a toy airplane again I was 3). I was terrified. Second, It was like an insane asylum because they put me in a vest and made me listen to "brain music" for an hour and charged my parents an extra hundred a month for it. So parents please just send your child to public school because it is cheaper and the teachers are so much nicer."
"Oak Farm is the school I always dreamed I'd be able to send my kids to. Never in my wildest dreams did I think it actually exsisted in the states, let alone that I would find it nestled in small town Indiana. (Well worth the drive from Angola)"
