Reviews of John Hay Center
"Small town Midwest life is on beautiful display here, less than an hour to view it all but totally worth it"
"It is an excellent resource for Washington County, Indiana history. Archivist Kaylee was very helpful and a pleasure to deal with. There is so much to be learned that I'm certain to return and return and return."
"This small town museum offers a big historical experience. Items are connected to all the moments in time marked in history books, but with local owner s and stories. The personal notes about each item and the variety of collections will keep any history buff busy for hours. Photo of a RARE George Washington campaign button."
"If you've never been there at all, check out the local museum. Pretty awesome asset for this community. Also, the pioneer village is well preserved. You could spend a quiet afternoon exploring the grounds. I was there for Old Settlers Day. Lots of booths. A few interesting ones. My wife was more interested than I was. Some good food. Missed out on ham and beans at the museum. Almost missed Burdens Within, an Indianapolis based grunge group who sounded great. Free entry to everything. Better signage and perhaps an itinerary of events somewhere would have been nice."
"It has Lot's of old artifacts to look at. And are early history in Salem is explained through the history of John hay."
