Reviews of The Salvation Army Family Store & Donation Center
"The store was clean but it wasn’t a lot of variety. Anyways, I found a shirt and when I checked out, it was $5.49. I was paying with cash so I pulled out a $20 bill and the cashier told me “no change.” I had $3 in singles and the $.49. The $20 was the smallest bill I had so I said “well can I get a discount because I really want this shirt but the smallest bill I have is this 20?” She proceeded to tell me no so they missed out on a sale and I missed out on the shirt I wanted. That was insane to me. I understand if I was trying to give a $50 or a $100 bill but to refuse a sale because you all don’t have change is ridiculous. She also seemed to have an attitude. I more than likely won’t be back to this location."
"Love this location… usually. I can find great brands and pieces for fair prices. Pricing has become higher but at this point all thrift stores are charging more. The “no tag no sale” policy is understandable. However, employees are unnecessarily rude and offer no help when you ask about an item with no price. If you find an unpriced item, you have to wait for it to be “processed” rather than just getting it priced on the spot. I highly doubt customers that are spending $$$ on a cart full of clothes are trying to pull one over on you for one shirt that didn’t get tagged. Reconsider this blanket policy for customers willing to pay…"
"If I could give zero stars or less I most certainly would. I’ve been shopping regularly at this store since it opened and in this building when it was the social security office before the manager that was working today was born. I was accused of taking items from one bag and putting them in the bag I was attempting to purchase. If they have any video I would love for them to review and it and see that I found the bag I ended up purchasing had everything in it when I found it and have egg all over their face. I felt like a criminal being approached at checkout like that, so embarrassing. She wouldn’t even let me speak complete sentences, cutting me off every chance she could. They ripped through my bag and removed everything they said was in it and gave me mismatched items that did have matches in the bag I found. I then had to cancel my order to go chase them back to the processing part of the store and show them they screwed up and they took more away from my bag. I will never shop here again, ever and I hope I encourage more to do the same until the manager is replaced and they learn how to treat their paying customers properly."
"The store is a bit untidy. I understand that they have had a big staff turn over. Prices seem reasonable, baby clothes for as low as .69 and jeans like Levi's for like 4 bucks. Nice men's and ladies name brand suits start at 10bucks. Great place to shop if u re sell. Large store. Nice people working there."
"Very large store with a great selection of clothes and furniture pieces. Though a little lacking in everything else, evident in the fact that mostly everything pertaining to something else is in the back of the store. Their higher end pieces rest at the front of the store but besides a few odd electronics and a mountain of purses, there's not much else. You'd best come with a decent amount of money since their prices are rather fair and you'll probably want to get a few outfits. Great place for clothes or some nice furnishing but if you're wanting things besides fashion, you'll do better else where."
