"Our family moved overseas and due to short notice of our move, we were initially unable to take our cat with us. West Madison Veterinary Hospital is one of the few places in the area that handles international pet relocations. We boarded our cat with them until we could get all her paperwork done and they were amazing with her. The staff sent plenty of updates on how our cat was doing, and always made sure to let us know when her food was running low so we could restock. She ended up being there way longer than we intended, but we had peace of mind knowing she was in good hands. Staff played with her often and gave her lots of love and attention. Vermonica was the doctor in charge of the health certificates. She worked directly with the company we hired to help with relocation of our cat, going above and beyond. Couldn’t recommend them enough for any international travel needs!"

"First off, I want to say the staff has always been nothing but nice when dealing with them. My issue is with the prices of meds. I tried to transfer my two dog’s heart worm meds to an online pharmacy and got told that I had to pay $27 per dog, per script to have a vet review their files and write a script. Then I would have to pick up the script and mail it off to the pharmacy. My issue is, if my dogs were there last month for full checkups, and we paid for their meds last month, why do I have to pay to pick up scripts, and more importantly, if I am trying to transfer the cost of meds because it costs too much to buy it through the vet, why would you charge me over $100 to transfer the meds (heart worm and bravecto per dog) each time the script has to be renewed? When I balked at that, I got the response that they don’t trust online pharmacy’s because there is no guarantee who they get their meds from. I also asked if they price matched the meds from chewy since it would be cheaper than what I am currently paying when buying it from them, and got told no. I am frustrated that we have taken our pups to this place for the last few years but when we tried to transfer due to the rising cost of all of their meds and services, we get told that there are more fees. I transferred to another vet today, they will gladly cut scripts for my dogs to get their meds from an online pharmacy, as well as are drastically cheaper in meds than this place."

"We came here for a 2nd opinion for our 13 year old dog who stopped eating. Dr. Calvert saw our sweet Mia and reviewed all the information from our previous vet and gave thorough thoughts and recommendations. Dr. Calvert was incredibly patient and kind when reviewing what options we had left to try and was very honest with what she realistically thought the best course of treatment would be. Unfortunately our sweet girl had a complex issue that despite all efforts wasn't going to be treatable. Dr. Calvert helped us schedule having our sweet girl put to sleep and made an awful process feel more bearable. All of the staff was incredible during this process too and although the outcome for our girl was not what we hoped for, I'm confident in the care she received and at peace with knowing we did the best for her.
