Reviews of Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College - Perkinston Campus
"Amazing! The sports complex is a gem of a focal point and the campus itself has a osmall town community feel to it. Very friendly and full of opportunities obviously."
"MGCCC has been phenomenal! They have truly been excelling these past few years! They are growing and trying to cater to more students! I enjoyed my time here and learned a lot. I was able to continue my education with transfer scholarships to a 4 year institution because of the decision I made to go to MGCCC!"
"The Nursing school is a joke and here is why. I'll start with the teachers. After you pay your money, the teachers pick favorites, and negatively affect your overall learning if they don't deem you worthy. They manipulatively wait until they know you can't withdraw, and get a refund so you invest time and money into their program. They are condescending, cruel, and their absolute illogical reasoning is that patients will treat you this way. For example, I went to their orientation and one of the teachers were talking to a room of 150 students like this: "You guys can't follow simple instructions!" This was over just seating....WOW, how much arrogance can one person have to talk to a room of students like this. A lot of students don't just do nursing for the money. They do it to positively impact people's lives. I can think of numerous reasons why such a bad attitude such as this is bad for healthcare. Sure a patient in pain may get angry, but I only expect this. Not from a teacher, boss, or coworker how knows better. Off topic: Healthcare has one of the highest suicide rates. How this system works like this.....it's not obviously. Kindness is love and treating your co-workers, and employees with respect is good mind, body, and spirit. That is what health is about. When you are paying money for a teacher to instruct you, this is unethical in every way imaginable, not to mention inhumane, destructive, and steals the lives of students when $4,000 for one semester is a lot of money, especially to Mississippi residents. I really do not know how they received the best nursing school in the state. It's unfathomable. Next, their program is designed to where you have to take all these classes to eventually not be able to receive financial aid anymore. You reach a cap, because this school wants you to take over 62 credit hours which most four year colleges only accept 62. Why do you need all these extra credits? So they can make money. They are not ethical people. This school only cares about the huge profits they make of their students, and financial aid. Most of the teachers at this school are great, but some are bullies, and should be reprimanded. Get a four year degree. You will be employed with higher pay and spend less money. You also don't have to deal with unethical bullies. There are no reviews online for this program really and I felt it my absolute obligation to society to post this."
"The campus is clean and very scenic. There is a clocktower plaza, beautiful football field, chapel, cafe, grill area, and gym. The theater, Malone Hall, is cared for and clean, with many seats. They have a library and learning resource center. The campus is safe and watched by the campus police."
"THE WORST CLINIC EVER. I went there because I was having problems going to the bathroom. They told me it sounded like I was pregnant and they took my pee and ONLY tested it for pregnancy. NO OTHER TEST. sent me home w laxatives. Turns out I actually had a severe UTI. I'm going to that clinic and cussing out every undertrained person there. It's so disappointing. I'm so disappointed"
