"I had several visits to the Family Medicine clinic, because this place was actually in network for my insurance. If not for that, I would not have returned after the first time. The intake staff downstairs are blunt and unfriendly. The doctors do not listen to my concerns. Physical exams have been cursory at best. At no time did I feel that my health was of any concern at all to the people there. The final straw happened today. When I arrived for my appointment upstairs I was told to go back downstairs because there was a problem with my insurance. I went downstairs and the person at the desk told me I needed to update my insurance. She acted as if I had interrupted her and like she had better things to do. I handed her my new card and she told me to go sit down and wait. Five minutes later she called me back and told me she needed my ID. She again told me to go wait. FORTY FIVE MINUTES LATER, (forty five minutes after my appointment time), she called me over and told me I would have to call my insurance about being in network. I consequently did not see a doctor today and cannot get my medications refilled."
"Dr. Bean Woo has always provided us with exceptional level of care. He is always knowledgeable, professional, and respectful. He took the time to explain, patiently answered our questions, and addressed all our concerns. He is dedicated and compassionate. We truly appreciate it and highly recommend Dr. Woo. P. "After making me wait in a room by myself for 45 minutes he brought me in his office and told me he is refusing to take me as a patient because I have seen my last dr for 10 years. I told him going back to my dr wasn't an option and he pretty much told me to try wellstone. I guess he thought I only had medicaid and not a secondary insurance so he didn't take me seriously. What a joke and waste of time. Do not even bother."
"Wow, in a bad way. UAB is my alma mater, and I am ashamed of this clinic. Their first floor reception staff treated my family with the most disrespect. We had an appointment. We even called ahead with our (early arrival time). Everything was fine on the phone. In person, totally different experience. The two receptionists were overtly rude upon entering. After beginning new patient paperwork, they cancelled our appointment 15 minutes in (even though we came in early). My sister was actually gracious about the cancellation, because our elderly mother was slow filling out the new patient paperwork on their iPad. So we only requested time to finish the paperwork and reschedule, yet they declined in the most strangest, rudest, nice-nasty, nonchalant way. And then took the iPad away. It was very off-putting and awkward. They also refused to reschedule us there at the desk. We decided not to cause a scene. (By the way, I'm leaving out about 50% of their rude behavior.) We turned to leave, and could hear them talking about us behind our backs. So that was weird. Not sure what we did wrong, besides be polite, normal humans hoping to help our elderly mother receive healthcare. (And to be honest; we are clean, well to do, educated people.) I could understand if we walked into their establishment with a bad attitude, offensive scent, and less than par appearance. However, we are quite the opposite. I believe they were just mean-spirited, prejudiced, envious representatives of UAB. I hope they hire kinder people in the future. But I guess bad people are everywhere. I send those two women blessings, and love. Please take care, and find empathy and grace for your fellow humans. Thank you."
"DR SALAZAR IS THE WORST!!! Schedules appointments, but you won’t be seen for a hour later. And that’s just waiting on her. Expect to be there 2 1/2 3 hours.. and you’re not allowed to switch doc in the practice or I would have already!! Waited OVER AN hour and she couldn’t even take out my sons TWO staples correctly. She was such in a hurry to leave bc it was past 5:20.. my appointment was at 4pm. and was shaking the whole time, ended up having to take him to er where a professional can seen him and do it the right way. If I could give 0 stars I would. DO NOT GO WITH HER!!! You’ll also be waiting a month maybe two on a referral somewhere. 10/10 recommended DR. BATTLE, if I could have chosen her to begin with I would have in a Heartbeat!! When I did end up seeing her, I never waited longer than 10 min in the waiting room, and was always so nice."
