"I lived at Pleasant Run for 3 years, moved in about 6 months after it opened. Overall the people who live there are extremely nice and there were just a few odd birds who lived there. People are people everywhere. All of the managers have been rude and not consistent in carrying out their duties. Promises were made for 2 years about an adding additional parking but none has ever been added. The "solution" was to park across the grass along the access road and walk into the building from there. However, the ground was very uneven and when it had been raining, it was wet and muddy. The parking situation is made worse by the fact that there isn't enough handicapped parking. This forces some folks to rent a garage at an additional high cost. Also, due to the lack of handicapped parking, some entitled residents decided it was ok to just park on the striped spaces reserved for handicapped access. The materials used in construction seem to be the cheapest possible. The craftsmanship was also lacking. The kitchen counter in my apartment had a screw tightened too tight and it cracked the countertop. The carpet is probably the cheapest available, making it difficult to clean and in some apartments it buckled. There were horrible issues with hot water, sometimes we would go days without it. Since there is no bathtub, that made bathing regularly difficult. The roof in the community room leaked and would flood the floor. There were several attempts to fix it but it finally was corrected. The rent increased by over $400 from the time I moved in to the time I moved out and it was set to increase even more at the next lease signing. Doors are not secure on each end of the building. Two tugs by an 80 year old woman was all it took to open them yet the front door has a code panel that residents must enter their personal code to gain access. While all utilities are included, for some reason the lights in the common areas were always on (many of the residents would turn them off when possible because ultimately, WE were paying that bill through rent increases) and the heating/cooling were always set to an extreme and then they were locked down so residents couldn't adjust it for their comfort during game night. The landscaping leaves a lot to be desired. While I do miss the people, I don't miss the issues mentioned above. The maintenance man has way too much to deal with on his own without any support from local management/corporate."
"Lived on property for 2 years and although building is only 4 years old, property has many issues. No hot water for 4 days in December 2022, water turned off frequently, flooding in third floor apartments forcing residents to relocate without financial assistance. Staffed by 2 employees (manage/maintenance) and went through 3 managers and second maintenance person in my 2 years. All were kind and supportive but appearance of corporate mismanagement very evident. Dark parking lots, insufficient parking spaces for residents, security cameras have never worked, frequent car burglaries, fire truck access issues documented. Building does have secure door access (need key or pass code for entry) but doors are frequently blocked open by landscaping rocks or locks are broken allowing entry for everyone. Residents were very nice and volunteers “always” decorated and kept community room and part time coffee shop clean and welcoming (A+). Sadly the issues appear to reflect poorly on the leadership and support of the corporation which is located out of state and the past employees voiced concerns to residents. Could definitely be a top rated apartment community with a little direction."
"Lawn service is terrible here there killing the lawn. Poor insulation between rooms and apartments above sounds like there coming through the ceiling. I complained about the lawn service and was pretty much got told to deal with it. The place has a problem with hot water. Has gone out 6 times that I’ve lived here 14 months. One time is was out 4 days. This last time intermittently over a 4 day period. There also is not enough parking for the number of apartments. The fire department has issues getting it’s fire truck in here because people have to park on the side area blocking entrance for the big fire truck. Also security issues with poor outside lighting. The East side of the building at night is pitch black. I don’t think the cleaning crew has vacuumed the hallway on the east side for over 6 months. We still have cobwebs in the corners of the stairwells. The appearance of the building looks ok but you live here the things pop up."
"This place has been a nightmare since I moved in three years ago. For the first year we did not receive any of the amenities promised and they blamed it on COVID. The hot water is turned off at least twice a week. There is not ample parking, sometimes your deliveries are delivered to your door sometimes not. Maintenance is almost non existent. I Went a whole month in August 2022 without AC.The final straw that broke the camel's back was a 300 Dollar rent increase. I will be moving out when my lease is up. My advice to anyone looking to rent here Don't. They will screw you till the very end. Don't believe the hype about adding more parking spots they have been promising that for two years now. All you get at Pleasant Run Senior Apartments is ridiculous rent increases with nothing to show for them."
"I cannot begin to say how happy I am living here for almost 2 years. It is such a secure facility and well maintained. Tiffany alerts us by phone if water will be turned off (recently off for a few hours on different days for water softener installed). She is courteous and very welcoming. Her door is always open and if there are issues or complaints, she addresses them promptly. She keeps a list of vendors to come at beck and call as needed. Maintenance needs are being addressed more quickly. We will soon be getting more parking spaces. Amenities are nice and she is earnestly trying to get a hairdresser. Building looks and smells clean. I am so thankful to live here…my husband and I say at least once a day “ I love living here”. Residents are friendly and enjoy each others company with activities or just sitting on back patio."
