"This place is horrific…. I moved in November 10, 2023… I am stuck for 8 more months, I will not be renewing my lease. Where do I even begin… the apartment I am in was at some point flooded bad. It was slapped together for us. Black mold so BAD all throughout. My kitchen cabinets had to be removed and drywall had to be taken out due to mold… only to find more black mold deeper on every single wall… the contractors that removed what they could were great, and they said this place needs gutted and re done with all the mold they saw. The maintenance supervisor here either knows nothing or just does not care. Hot and cold in my shower was backwards for 2 months, had to have someone come out to fix it because maintenance supervisor couldn’t figure out the problem. They ended up coming into my kids room, cutting a big hole in their wall and putting a panel in!!! something that needed done a long time ago!!! there’s just too much for me to be able to put on here so I will provide photo of what it was like moving right in. Granted, some of these things have finally been addressed but it did take me getting really mad and looking crazy in my apartment when maintenance supervisor and I got into a very heated argument because he’s trying tell me that everything‘s OK “let him fix it” when in my opinion as supervisor he need to get these apartments done the right way the first time and stop cutting corners so bad… we pay $1000 a month to live here… and I can’t wait to get out of here. Alexis is awesome… the girls in the office are friendly and helpful as much as they can be so I wish I had better things to say but I dont… dont live here."

"Horrible apartments. Kitchen cabinets fell off the wall and mold was behind the cabinets. They put them back up without fixing mold. Kitchen sink kept backing up. Then once I moved they threw a $160 fee on my credit without contracting me. I owed money for what????. And rent kept increasing every month. Ended up paying $850 for a 1 bdrm apt."

"If I could post zero stars I would. The bed bugs and managements unwillingness to do anything about them was ridiculous. Not to mention the mold. Our floor by the balcony was sinking in due to rotting. Junkies overdosing in front of our building. Constant gunshots had us ducking in our own home. Overall HORRIBLE experience. And when It came time to pay for the “damages” they wouldn’t answer a single phone call until it hit collections. 100% would not recommend English Village and any apartments ran by Birge&Held"

"Hopefully you read my review entirely, if you don't you'll really miss out! I was reading some of the reviews, I couldn't help but feel disappointed. I've lived here now going on 4 months, I wanted to wait about that amount of time before writing my review. I took the time to observe this Community, The Staff and the Maintenance men. I honestly can't say enough positive of all. The Manager Holly is upbeat, incredible personality. I appreciate her. I had questions when I moved in and have had some since then, as busy as she is she ALWAYS takes time to listen and helps when needed. She realizes that my dog is my family she pays attention to Ginger whenever she sees her, so of course I think she's fantastic!! Morgan in the leasing office is warm and welcoming as well! ALWAYS a smile, always a sense of humor. They both continuously make you feel that you are in fact HOME! I couldn't possibly not make mention of the Maintenance men. Never have I seen them at the office, parking lot or driving through without them bursting with hello's, is everything alright. I feel as though I've known them all my life! Again I feel like HOME! I myself have not had issue's why you ask? My apartment is perfect! Without a doubt I know if I need them they will be there. The Community is clean, inviting and extremely quiet 7 days 7 nights, I sleep like a baby. I could live here forever.!"

"English Village started off ROUGH, but in the end we were satisfied. Upon moving in, WE HAD A BAD ROACH PROBLEM (came from the neighbors) so we took care of the pest problem ourselves. I lived on English Village Lane near the mailboxes. Our street was peaceful, never had an issue. Maintenance was not the best here, they never replaced nor fixed my damn dishwasher, they took FOREVER to fix the things they did FINALLY get around to fixing, so thankfully nothing major ever needed to be repaired. Our apartment was newly remodeled, very clean, comfortable and cozy. Holly and Hillary inside the office were great. Keep up the good work ladies. Hopefully, your maintenance team gets better in time. Overall, I had a nice experience renting here at English Village Apartments.I will miss my apartment! It's always scary moving into a new place."
