Reviews of Metropolitan Fishers Apartments
"UPDATE: Apparently I was taken to court to be evicted, however I gave a notice and wasn’t even living in the apartment…I didn’t even get the letter because I DIDNT LIVE THERE!!! This place is trash, there are so many better options out there! I don’t even know where to start. I moved in and every brushed stainless steel fixture was coated in rust. I WAS MISSING A SHOWER HEAD! I had to borrow a shower head from a friend. My exhaust fan is probably older than I am, disgusting and yellow. My bottom pantry rack was falling off. The fireplace cover was covered in rust. My outlets are covered in an unknown substance. They did a poor job painting and got paint on the light fixtures, and door knobs. It took them over 2 weeks to fix everything, and just painted over the exhaust fan. The pool is disgusting, and has a slimy film on the bottom. It eventually had an algae bloom due to improper maintenance. The outside is not maintained at all. Bushes need to be trimmed, the buildings need painted. The people that live here don’t care to keep it nice either, they leave their dog poop all over the place including the sidewalks. I had my bike stolen right off of my porch and someone tried to come in my apartment a few nights later. There’s a constant smell of weed when you walk outside, glass everywhere in the parking lot. I have a constant migraine from my neighbors cigarette smoke wafting into my upstairs unit. I’m being charged $75 for water, sewer, and trash! $75!!! I was hesitant to write a review because they are letting me out of my lease with no penalty, however after receiving my utility bill I thought why not?! Others should believe the reviews!!! This place is absolute trash! LOOK ELSEWHERE unless you like living in the hood! Definitely overcharging for these apartments! Below is what the trash compactor looks like almost daily…."
"The apartments themselves are nice and spacious but the complex overall is just okay, and it kind of makes the price you pay not seem worth it. 1) I had roaches in my apartment and brought it to the leasing office’s attention via e-mail probably back in December. I received a call back that someone would be by the next week. When I emailed again to follow up and explain that no one ever came by, I just never received a response. By the time I moved out October, I couldn’t turn on the kitchen light without seeing 3 or 4 scatter. There was also a severe spider problem in the stairwells/hallways. Not exactly sure what they were doing with the monthly pest charge. 2) The parking is absolutely atrocious. Everyone would get an email at least once a month about not parking in car ports or you’d be towed, but they’d also let cars that were “tagged” to be towed sit in the lot for months. Not only is the parking limited but you’re also probably going to have to hike to your apartment from the parking lot. 3) There was no accountability for people with dogs and kids. The same lady would bring her dog with her EVERYWHERE in the apartment complex, usually without holding its leash, and it wasn’t trained. Running out in front of cars, growling/barking at people IN the gym, playing way too rough with the neighborhood kids. I also lived in a unit that was surrounded on all sides with families, and the kids would leave trash everywhere all the time. I understand kids will be kids, but why are the parents not being held accountable for picking up litter? 4) They do not keep up on their facilities. Went from April to July before they finally refilled the wet wipes in the gym, despite someone leaving a sticky note that read “Please refill me!” And I could never use the pool because it was either dirty or being cleaned in the middle of the day. 5) If you are late on a payment, they will harass you. I’m sure this is a corporate policy, and I want to make sure I note that Jami and Celeste are both very lovely and professional. But I knew I would be late on rent one month due to an unforeseen medical procedure, I preemptively called and told them the date I’d be able to pay rent and still accepted late fees, and yet I received a late fee notification email/letter to my door every other day threatening to evict me because “that’s policy, we don’t actually file for eviction until 30 days late.” I think if I’ve gone out of my way to tell you I’ll be late, I don’t need to further stress of you threatening to throw me out. 6) This is way less the fault of Metropolitan and more their vender Valet Trash, but there were no dumpsters in the complex and our trash people just wouldn’t pick up. Regularly just didn’t show up. Or sometimes they would but they’d pick and choose what to take. Or my favorite was when they’d rip the bag trying to get it out of our tiny little provided cans and just leave it for me to pick up the next morning. Again, Valet Trash had an additional monthly fee. Overall liveable apartments, but they are not worth the price you pay if you ask me. Too many other issues that seem to compile."
"My recent tour at The Metropolitan was such a great experience. Both Celeste and Christina were very helpful and knowledgeable of the Fishers area, since I am just returning back in state. They were able to answer all my questions and provide information I didn’t even think to ask! The apartments are very spacious and reasonably priced especially for the location."
"If you need a nice and affordable place to live with friendly staff this is the place! I had such a wonderful experience touring the place with Christina! She was very knowledgeable of the property and answered every question I had. Touring apartments can be stressful but her level of attentiveness and patience really helped ease the pressure! The units themselves are nice and spacious. The property is pet friendly and includes a pool and fitness center which are some of the main amenities I was looking for. If you’re looking for something affordable in the fishers area add this to your list!"
