Roberts School Flats

"I resided in Roberts Flats the most awful place for a brief moment. There was no chance of having any privacy as the walls were paper-thin. The slightest sound from the adjacent apartments and lower floor could be heard. Moreover, I observed that the building was aged and had multiple leaks. I wouldn't recommend anyone to move to this place. It was a terrible experience, and I was eager to leave as soon as the 7th day of my stay. Don't go through the same trouble; avoid it altogether."

"Beautiful building that was poorly updated. Extremely high electric bills, I’m talking as high as your rent in the winter- monthly. The windows leak, do not seal, are very old but they do not know how to fix them or maintain them. Multiple ceiling leaks damaging my items and constant crumbling. Maintenance does care and wants to help but genuinely can’t fix the problems for one reason or another. Management is completely awful and short of you staying on top of them 24/7 they will not do anything for you without a fight. Know what you’re getting into before living there. While it seems neat it’s not worth the trouble you will endure."

"Roberts School Flats has been hands down the best apartment I have ever had. The staff is attentive and listen to any concerns I have. The rent is fair especially for the area and I am SOOO EXCITED for all the new restaurants and shopping being built around me! I had so many terrible experiences with maintenance at my last community but the Core Redevelopment Maintenance staff are kind and communicative."

"I've enjoyed living in this reclaimed Indianapolis school minutes from North-East Mass Ave and the entrance to the Monon Trail for my time in this lease. Maintenance team is great and actually cares about solving problems. Cons: In the winter, power bills are absolutely insane. 4x the amount than in the summer or near fall. The Nest thermostat helps a little, but something is definitely off during the winter months. ***Expect to budget for power bills that are 25% of your rent during those months."

"I've had nothing but bad experiences both with this apartment and management. - Our furnace was running at half-power for weeks, with no fix from management. - I've frequently encountered roaches and other bugs that management either will not spray for or doesn't spray enough for. - I've had multiple ceiling leaks that damaged hundreds of dollars worth of items in the apartment, and management refused to reimburse. - We pay $60/month for "gated" parking, yet the gate that should be closed is often open 24/7. - The fee for the parking is double what we were told before we signed the lease. - None of the windows seal properly, and the apartment is constantly freezing. - The electronic building entry will often malfunction, locking me out."
