Reviews of OrthoIndy Northwest
"I fractured my elbow in September. Then I was told to just do RICE and tylenol, which didn't work. I called crying trying to work and I was told then to take an NSAID which the first appointment was told not to due to it slows healing. Then I see Dr. Rougraft, who saw the pain and prescribed medication. I had 3 appointments with him, my arm just in a sling being told to use it more and more. Then an xray showed still inflamed. I was advised that's why it still hurts. Then December 1st I was in a wreck and rebroke it. He said go to see the surgeon. I make that appoinment- weeks out and then the arguments started on the medication. Then I was told to see pain management- week out again. The meds were cut back and I was told to cut back, do RICE, and tylenol. Of course doesn't work- I can barely work and not sleeping. I was told he couldn't help, referred me to pain management outside of ortho indy. I was told that office doesn't do that. They said ortho indy should but to see my primary doc. Which said they couldn't help either. Then I was told by ortho indy to find a pain doc that could in my network. I call 5, all do not do this. I call back to advise that and was given 3 pain management's. One not in network, one won't do it, and the last- weeks until they decide if they can help me. I am not sleeping. Can't work. Have kids I can't even help with due to pain. No one at ortho indy helps. The first doctor gave me a splint 4 days prior to seeing the surgeon. I have been told many times this should ha e happened from the begining. I now have a metal thing that hurts my arm because it is so heavy. They do not care about their patients nor help them out. DO NOT GO THERE AT ALL. If in pain they treat you like a drug addiction when I wasn't given the tools to heal properly from the begining."
"Doctors that I have seen have been great but the women that check you out, insanely rude and dismissive! Sorry i bother them to do their job. Makes me question continuing care with Orthoindy. ALWAYS an issue with check out staff. Obviously this is tolerated since it continues for months now. Sad they ruin a desent experience. Makes me question remaining office staff to handle my insurance, appointments and so on. Administrative supervisors need to elevate what is going on and correct this level.of customer care. Have already filed a complaint but as expected it goes ignored. Sad."
"The care you receive depends on the doctor. Seen several great doctors over the years. Was given to Dr. Jasper after my previous doctor retired. He is the absolute worst! Doesn't care what you want or say he has his own agenda. He even told me that bone on bone does not cause pain."
"Idk why this place has such a low rating. Staff Every employee has been friendly - whether it's the schedulers, the x-ray techs or PA's. Facility Extremely clean and the urgent care stays true to its name and gets you seen *urgently*. Quality of Care I moved to Indy a year ago and felt overwhelmed by the lack of highly-rated ortho options in this city. I started my journey at OrthoIndy in Greenwood -> diagnosed with meniscus tear in knee -> referred to PT -> completed PT -> developed ankle pain on an attempted run (despite not rolling it). This was my emotional breaking point, because I had not been able to keep my lifestyle for 6 months (soccer/ice skating/tennis/running). I was referred to Dr. Schroeder at OrthoIndy Northwest and he did not dismiss my sadness or fear of being unable to return to my lifestyle. Unlike some of the comments made by my PT and the previous PA, Dr. Schroeder also did not dismiss the fact that I was not only having the ankle pain, but still had an irritation in my knee. Dr. Schroeder gave me the empathetic listening and hopeful words that I needed mentally at that point. He also ordered an MRI, gave me ankle exercises to do on my own, explained future options if my knee irritation didn't subside and requested a check-in in 1 month. I'm thankful to say that I played soccer for the 1st time in 6+ months because of Dr. Schroeder's support - he got me to the finish line."
"Was amazing yesterday! I felt bad coming in 45min before closing but I had to go. The lady at the desk was so kind to my pain. She got me a wheelchair and took care of me and was so kind to my daughter also. The gentleman that did my X-ray was kind and understanding to my pain limits. The MA and PA in the back were amazing also! Very kind and compassionate. Took their time didn’t rush even with closing time approaching. Looked up what time my normal pharmacy closes to make sure I could get my medication. Nothing but amazing!"
