"Had a much better experience today with DO Zalenski and her amazing nurse. I felt my concerns were heard and understood whereas last visit with another NP I left crying and was made to feel like I'm crazy. Ultimately the treatment plan was the same as the NP I didn't have a great experience suggested but they were much less forceful about it and helped me actually understand what is going on. I work in VetMed so I'm not a dummy when it comes to the science of how things work so that understanding of what is actually going on is so so important to me. I can't thank DO Zalenski and her nurse enough!"
"Absolutely worst experience possible. Very rude staff from the moment you walk in the door. Also extremely judgemental and not very caring for women who deliver babies. Left the office crying every visit. Wouldn't suggest anyone going here, especially working women as they can't get anything straight.. from scheduling to sending in a simple nausea medication, not addressing an infection, and you definitely never see the sams nurse or doctor. And after my last visit(actually i left before because of the rude receptionist) she then called to argue with me and sit and laugh about it with other women in the office. Very unprofessional. I had it at that point. Extremely happy I left and found someone else to deliver my son."
"I wish I could give negative stars to this place! Treated horribly the first time by the staff, but trusted the doctor so I went back for my second approintment/surgical procedure, only to have it cancelled as I walked in even though I had been sick all morning from the meds I had to take for it. I wouldn't recommend them to my worst enemy, and now I've been banned from the office because I "made a scene"...crying...and I have it recorded!"
"I went into the office as a new patient to be treated for a yeast infection. I chose this place because it was catered to women’s healthcare, and I felt that it would be a safe and welcoming place. The receptionist was very kind and gave me a mask to wear because I had a sinus infection. However, the nurse who took me to my exam room was judgmental from the jump. I was blowing my nose when she called my name and asked me if I had been seen for that illness, which I had and had already informed the office of. She looked disgusted at the fact that I was sick, even though I had no option but to attend the appointment because they could only schedule me again for a month later. When we got to my room, she was short and rude with me, making fun of me for not remembering the names of my medications. I have medical anxiety so it is very hard for me to even be at the doctor’s in the first place. She offered me no comfort at all or even any kindness. When my doctor came in, Casey Sullivan, who I’ve never met before, she proceeded to jump straight in to an exam to check me out. I am 21 years old, and I have never had any sort of pap smear or speculum exam, so I was very nervous and unaware of what was going to happen to check out my infection. I asked what she was doing when she began my exam because I had no clue what to expect, and she replied with a dismissive and short tone. She then began the speculum exam with no warning or helpful words at all. I immediately began to cry because it hurt and I felt violated. Instead of stopping or asking if I was okay, she just finished up the exam abruptly despite my pain and crying. Only after my exam did she think to ask if I had ever had one done before, and she stated that she didn’t even check my chart to glean my young age or past procedures. In addition to this, she told me that I would need to learn how to “deal with” the process of a pap smear because I would need to do more in the future. After this experience, I am not fearful of pap smears and exams. This experience was incredibly unprofessional, rude, and downright invasive. I received no compassion here and I could not recommend it any less if you’re looking for some kindness. I was belittled, rushed through a scary exam, and then felt like I had not been paid attention to in the aftermath. Even as I was crying as I left, no one seemed to pay me any attention. Do NOT go here."
"I had made an appointment to be seen for my postpartum checkup & to get birth control after having my daughter. I don’t currently have a babysitter & the father of my child works Monday-Friday from 8am-5pm, which is the hours of Westside Physicians for Women. I drove 45 minutes to the Avon location to finally go to my appointment after 4 months of waiting, I had my child with me and she was fully asleep in her car seat. I walked in, I was not greeted by the front office associate but for her to instead stand up from her chair, look at me & say “you are not aloud to have kids in this office right now, if you’re here for an appointment, you’ll need to reschedule”. I understand that they want safety in the building with the pandemic going on, but you mean to tell me, that there are pregnant women with their significant others in the building with them.. but I am not aloud to have my child with me for my postpartum checkup after having her? It should be MY choice whether or not I feel comfortable with my kid in there with me. I told the women that I had drove 45 minutes to make this appointment & that I had no babysitter, I just wanted to get taken care of, she briefly walked to the back of the office for a moment before coming out and saying “nope, sorry, there’s nothing we can do, you’ll need to reschedule”. I felt so disrespected and disappointed by the people who I thought would help me in one of the most vulnerable times of my life.. I would recommend a different physician to anyone in the future after this day."
