Reviews of The Quarry
"BEWARE BEFORE YOU SIGN A LEASE!!!!! If you are not living alone in this apartment, you WILL be responsible for all damages, unpaid rent from roomates, etc. The property management does not care if 1 name is on the lease or 4 names are on the lease. They will hold whomever they can get a hold of responsible for EVERYTHING. Law enforcement can only do the minimum due to the way the lease is written. So, do not sign a lease with multiple people unless you can ABSOLUTELY trust them!!!!! It will cost you a lot of time, stress, and court cost. The property management WILL NOT HELP YOU!!!"
"Listen closely, these apartments LOOK great at first, but don’t expect to get your security deposit back no matter what. Hunter Bloomington is most definitely the worst company Ive ever leased from. They will charge you for any and every small thing. For example -$12 for “some minor body hair on bathroom sink”. Most of the charges taken out of the security deposit won’t have explanations such as “window check $20, wall check $45, door check $95” MAKE SURE YOU CHECK THE DECK ON THE UNIT!!!! They are extremely old and rotten. Feet push right though the boards and make huge holes (I speak from experience and I’m not even 200lbs) Don’t expect them to repair anything in a timely manner. For example, when your AC unit goes out in the middle of summer, they won’t fix it for MONTHS and when they do, the repair will only last a few weeks before it requires more repairs. Hunter Bloomington advertises dog parks, BUT DONT USE THEM!!!! There are holes in the fences big enough for my 80 lbs dog to slip through the holes. The gate is so flimsy, any dog over 40 lbs can easily push it open and get loose. I alerted them of these issues on MULTIPLE occasions but it was never fixed. This resulted in a reactive aggressive dog pushing down said gate, and sending my dog to the hospital while we were on a walk near the park (the nearest animal hospital is more than an hour away and the nearest 24/7 animal hospital is 2.5 hours away) In all, Hunter Bloomington is not worth your money unless you don’t care about maintained amenities, safety measures, or your security deposit. I will never speak a good word about this company until the day I DIE."
"The Quarry overall has nice town homes for price that you are paying. The plus side to living here is that you are on separate leases. Originally, my first few months here were fine... nothing to complain about. However, I got a new position and needed to move, I found a sub-leaser for my room. The process was very unprofessional and unorganized. After this long process was finalized and my sub-leaser signed paperwork to take over it was even more of a disaster. Every time I called the office it was a different story and seemed no one was on the same page. From my understanding they are suppose to do a move out walk through with the new leaser but they failed to do that on the proper date. They did this walk through approximately 2 weeks after my move out (which means they could possibly charge me for damages that were caused after my move-out). I called The Quarry upset because I thought that I should've been present as well as all the roommates so we could see what was what. When I called the office staff seemed annoyed with my questions and unwilling to explain the process. I even got into a dispute with one of the office staff girls and she decided to say "I don't have to answer anything else, thank you have a great day bye." And hung up. In customer service you must remain as professional as possible and I don't feel as if they have much customer service training or organization yet. All in all, besides the office staff the places themselves are great, no complaints. It's just a headache and no one wants to be treated like that where they are living and paying rent."
"Living at the Quarry has been an enjoyable experience. The staff is nice and always willing to help. I love living in my apartment, it is so spacious. My favorite part is the kitchen, its so huge I still cant fill all the cabinet space. Over the last year, they have made great changes to the neighborhood, adding small gym and renewing the parking lots. Now they are going to be upgrading the apartments with new appliances and new wood floors. The new management is making a conscious effort to better this property."
"Overall the townhouses themselves are nice. However, the management is extremely rude. I understand they have certain rules and regulations to follow in order to maintain their business. But, the manager constantly verbally attacks tenants on the personal level and is extremely unprofessional. I had to call 4 times in order to receive a fire extinguisher ( which they are legally required to supply) after 10 weeks I finally received it. Putting the issues with the manager aside, the maintenance guys have been very helpful and I have not had an issues with getting work tickets resolved and my place fixed."
