Scholar's Rock Studio Apartments 1300 North Walnut Street, Bloomington, IN 47404

"I am a first year doctoral student at IU, and moved to Bloomington in the middle of COVID-19. I was SO nervous because I had never been to Bloomington prior to the move, and was simply relying on reviews and pictures of the scholars rock studio apartments. I'm happy to say that I just renewed my lease for another year! I LOVE this apartment, and the community. It is so quiet, and everyone is incredibly respectful. It is the perfect size (honestly, the studio is bigger than I thought it would be). The free parking is also a plus, and I never have any issues finding a spot. The community laundry facilities are always clean. Sarah (management) responds to email questions within an hour. I have never had any issues with this studio. This would be a great place for anyone to live, and I recommend. This is my first ever google review, but felt obligated to share how incredible my experience has been thus far. As a young woman living alone, I always feel safe, comftorable, and happy here. Disregard my coat rack in the middle of the picture (this was my only picture on hand), but as you can see, it's so easy to decorate and make this place feel like a home! :)"

"Very quiet and peaceful place to live! I love to call this place my little peaceful oasis away from the craziness of IU/Bloomington. This is the first apartment I've lived in that actually feels like home. All the staff are so friendly, welcoming, and helpful, and the apartments are really cozy and the perfect size. The location is really close to the 6 bus, as well as the stadium for the A bus, so getting to class early in the morning is very easy and convenient. I'm looking forward to living here for another year! I can't recommend Scholar's Rock/Renaissance Rentals enough!"

"I have lived at Scholar's Rock (corner of 17th and College) for three years and the experience has been so great that I recently signed a lease for a fourth year. As with any renting experience, problems arose, but it was never to the point where the staff and I were unable to find an appropriate solution. Price: This is one of the cheaper places to rent on campus and the suite modules are worth the extra $40 or so a month as they give you much more space than the regular studio apartments. Location: Perfect. Renters are removed from the crazed atmosphere of downtown Bloomington, but close enough to visit Kilroy's Sports or Kirkwood via a 20 minute walk or short drive. Renters can pick up the X or A route buses at Memorial Stadium, which is only 6 blocks away. Staff: Everything considered, the staff at Scholar's Rock is the main reason why I've lived here going on four years. They are always very approachable and extremely friendly. The maintenance personnel are phenomenal and are quick to perform anything from air filter checks to renovating a bathroom. As long as your requests are reasonable, the staff is more than willing to work with you. The only fault I can find with Scholar's Rock is the parking. The lot itself is fairly small considering the number of renters and the hill leading into the lot itself can become extremely treacherous during times of high traffic or snow. Other than that, any current or prospective Hoosier should choose Scholar's Rock!"

"I have lived in a Scholar’s Rock Standard Studio since August and am very pleased with my overall experience here. I am a graduate student and it is the perfect place for me. The office and maintenance staff is incredibly helpful, professional, approachable and friendly, and has been incredibly accommodating with anything that I’ve ever asked. For example, I was once having trouble with the hot water knob on my kitchen sink. Two days later, I had a brand new faucet and maintenance even changed a lightbulb for me while they were there. The common areas are clean and having the on-site laundry facility is extremely convenient. The studios themselves are very comfortable and perfect for one person to live. While the standard studios are quite small, you know that getting into it, and still offer a fair amount of bathroom, kitchen, and closet space. Something the drew me to Scholar’s Rock is that some of the studios came furnished with a queen sized Murphy bed, which is so comfortable. The rent price is fair and one of the best you’ll find in Bloomington, unless you want roommates. Utilities prices are reasonable, and I am able to get great internet and cable through a provider. Aside from the sounds of traffic (which you’ll find everywhere in the area), the complex is extremely quiet. I really enjoy the location, being so close to the stadium and only a few minutes from downtown, College Mall, and campus. Overall, I highly recommend Scholar’s Rock!"
