Reviews of IMA East Primary Care
"I have always received good customer service from the receptionist and whoever answers the phone when I called. It does take a long time to get an appointment (other than an emergency appointment), but that was true of my former physician as well. Their lab is also quick and efficient. The woman who took my blood there was the best phlebotomist I have ever come across. I highly recommend this place."
"IMA East has THE worst customer service of any doctor's offices that I've ever came in counter with. The women that answer the phone are extremely rude and insensitive. Every time I've called I've been patient and polite even though I've gotten the run-around for over a week, but they always act like I'm an inconvenience to them and try to get me off the phone as quickly as possible. I know doctors are rather busy so they have to take notes and may not have an answer for me right then, but they've taken down the wrong notes multiple times on my account so that when I was called back with a message from the doctor it did not answer my question accurately. Then, when I finally was able to take blood tests that I was requesting and my results came in (3 days later then the maximum time I was informed) it took me just shy of 30 minutes to speak with a nurse about my results. The nurse clearly had no knowledge of the blood tests because she told me completely different information than the doctor and I had discussed earlier that week. I stayed calm and asked that she have someone call me back that had knowledge of the blood test results and therefore could answer my questions.... it's been 2 days now since then and I still have not received a call back. I just called them to see if I could speed the process up (my blood test results are rather sensitive and waiting 2 weeks to know is making my nerves on end) they let me know that the doctor and the nurse took a half day and that they recommended I call back the next day. On top of that, last Friday I was finally told that only one of the two results were in, but that the doctor left at 4pm that day so she wanted to wait until Monday to let me know. I had to demand that they let me know of the results just for them to tell me. Overall I am extremely dissatisfied with how I've been treated throughout this very tough process. I do not recommend anyone going to IMA East for any reason."
"Absolutely horrible after it was bought out by IU Health. Doctors leaving, hardly anyone to help you. My husband was told to come back in a week for a follow-up chest xray to see if his pneumonia had cleared up so he could go back to work. Showed up for the xray and there was no notation from the doctor about it. Refused to do an xray and was told the doctor wouldn't be back in until Tuesday. While we waited, there were at least 4 other people with valid complaints that were NOT adressed appropriately."
"I received the worst care I have ever experienced. I work a desk job and have been feeling elbow pain since I took the position, so I scheduled an appointment to have my elbows x-rayed. As I had done some research beforehand, I knew it was likely what’s called tennis elbow, but I wanted confirmation. I also wanted a professional’s opinion on what I could do to get a more ergonomic desk setup to avoid further pain. The receptionist was quick and efficient. I was there early, but waited more than 30 minutes beyond my scheduled appointment. The assistant who took my x-rays was nice and the assistant who asked me the preliminary questions and took my blood pressure was fine enough. The real problem was the Physician Assistant, Mr. William Latimer. I immediately got the feeling I was just another box to check off the list. I get it, he was probably busy with other patients, but at the very least I expect feigned sincerity from healthcare professionals. He confirmed that, yes, I have tennis elbow. I mentioned I have been able to crack my elbows, something I had never been able to do before. He brushed this off and said I was just getting older. I’m 26. He immediately recommended that I take anti-inflammatory medication (which I had already been doing) and possibly wear arm braces. He didn’t recommend any stretches; he didn’t suggest strengthening exercises or physical therapy; he didn’t recommend anything beyond drugs, which is what I wanted to avoid. I don’t just want a band-aid. I explained my situation: my company is willing to accommodate my needs based off of his professional opinion on what would improve my desk setup. He said he couldn’t give an opinion on something like that. Who else but an orthopedist could give an opinion on something such as what helps prevent joint pain? Why seek help from a professional if all they are going to do is tell you to take painkillers to give temporary relief? Honestly, I learned more about how to treat this condition from a basic Google search. I do not know if Mr. Latimer is reflective of Premier Healthcare as a whole. I have heard good things about them. But, based off of my experience, I would recommend you look elsewhere first—or at the very least avoid this physician."
