Reviews of Mozzo Apartments
"My roommate and I have had issues with the new management since moving in in August. They’ve neglected to respond to any of our calls or emails and we are at our wits end. Our plumbing has been awful and has not been fixed since we first noticed the issue in October. More recently, they charged us a mysterious fee for “breaking the lease agreement” on 12/17 even though both my roommate and I were out of the state during this time. Today they sent out a reminder to pay rent, or we will be charged a late fee even though we’ve never made a single late payment. This is my last resort at an attempt to get a hold of management and hopefully get some resolution to these issues. Do NOT move in here unless you enjoy endless maintenance issues, unnecessary additional fees to an already expensive rent, and negligent management that refuses to help or answer any of your questions and concerns."
"Lived here a few years, great if you don’t run into issues maintenance-wise because my light and door were never fixed, but I stopped asking after a year. The people that took over the building this year must have acquired it quickly, because when asked, the leasing office said they could not provide me a copy of my lease as they didn’t have a copy on file. Even with this in mind, I loved this place - it was quiet, modern, functional, had a great location and parking. There are no amenities, but if you can get past that, you’ll like Mozzo"
"Since moving in at the beginning of March this year, Mozzo has been a tumultuous experience. When we toured in late January/early February, the leasing agent informed us that the previous company had just purchased Mozzo in December and they were still ironing out all of the kinks. Then, Mozzo changed hands afain in less than a year when Cushfield-Wakeman acquired the building in June/July. We had a survey taped to our door asking us to list occupants' information. Shouldn't all of this have been provided to them? On top of this, someone came into our apartment unannounced this past month and when stopped, informed us that our apartment was listed as vacant. Not sure what happened there. I'm not sure what went wrong with the acquisition but with ownership changes we were hopeful that some of the maintenance issues we have been dealing with would be resolved as the previous owners weren't responsive to our issues unless it was an absolute emergency. We have had a moldy washer gasket that we've tried to have replaced since moving in, maintenance has been out several times but we've been waiting ever since March and our maintenance requests keep getting closed without being completed. Overall, the rent is very affordable for the area, especially for a 2 bedroom/2 bathroom apartment in downtown Indy. For price alone, it's great. However, there are downsides that we have experienced. There is no office in the building and it seems to be a detriment that nobody is there every day to know what needs to be taken care of on location. When Cushfield-Wakeman initially took over the building, the outside trash was handled and the entry was cleaned about once a week. We have now not seen anyone in maintenance for several weeks. Not once have I seen anyone vacuum the complex hallways or change any lightbulbs that have been out since we moved in almost 8 months ago. The dog poo station is constantly overfilled with no sign of it being emptied anytime soon, YUCK! Additionally, god forbid you live on the first floor as there is a front door alarm that will go off for days and no resident can turn it off. It must be turned off by maintenance or a leasing agent. You can hear it throughout the building. The complex also allows an Airbnb to operate out of it. There are people coming and going all the time that residents are not familiar with and it just gives a certain "ick" to a place where you'd like to see the same faces all the time. It's really unfortunate. Getting the office to complete paperwork or give minor issues the time of day is like pulling teeth. I'm not sure how many other properties Cushman-Wakefield manages but I hope none are run like Mozzo. The location is great and the apartments are nice but I just couldn't recommend that anyone applies to live here, who knows how long it would take them to get back with you! It's almost like they don't want anyone's money!! Unless management straightens up and becomes more attentive, I can't recommend living at Mozzo."
"I sent payment to their leasing office, then the property management company changed hands - because the leasing office staff failed to check the location their predecessors cited. Now I'm dealing with unnecessary legal hurdles. I ADVISE ALL APPLICANTS TO RUN AWAY."
"I was so excited when I toured this space. I applied over a month ago (July 11th), paid $150, gave a move-in date and was told I would be good to go with approval and paperwork within 1-2 weeks at most. It's been a month and a half now. I kept calling and asking for updates. Now for the last week no one is answering calls or emails. Their website just leads to links that don't work. There's no way to get a hold of anyone. I just want to know if I have an apartment to move into next month or not! Please advise"
