"TLDR: There are probably better places to live for around the same price that don't require you to deal with constant theft and shouting at four in the morning. I personally lived in the spink building from 2020 to 2024 as my first experience living in an apartment on my own. I think the only positive thing I can say about the building is that it's not super expensive. So here are all the negative things: 1) Positioned right next to temporary housing for the homeless. You'll hear shouting late at night if you're towards the front side of the building. Your mail will be stolen. People from next door will often try and tailgate to get into the building so they can checked for unlocked doors. 2) Communial washer / drier units are awful. Units are old and break down frequently, and don't do a very good job. You can throw things in the driers for two cycles and your clothes will still come out damp. They also decided to 'upgrade' the machines by replacing their card scanners with an app you can use with your phone and decided to increase the cost of of using the machines to compensate for the convenience. 2$ for a cycle in either machine and as said before, the driers are awful so it's 6$ per load of laundry and even then they may not be completely dry. 3) Hot water heaters don't get very warm. 4) Bathrooms are designed for people around 5 feet tall with very small toilets and shower heads that you'll have to bend down to wash your hair with if you're even moderately tall, so expect to buy modifications to make the showers half decent. 5) The freigh elevator that was built when the building was is somehow a less bumpy ride than the modern elevator in front of the building, which will put the fear of god in you every time you ride it."
"lived here for two years at the dartmouth building and it was an incredible experience. maintainer is top tier and alway so fast with getting there. office staff is friendly and helpful. units are clean and updated."
"My husband and I visited a few apartments that met our criteria. Laya was phenomenal on giving a great tour! She went above and beyond on providing us the information we needed. Overall, we liked the prices, fitness center, and amenities included."
"I loved living here. It was amazing. The only reason I'm leaving the apartment complex is because I'm moving out of state. The staff is amazing and go out of their way to help you. There's lots of amenities. The apartments are pretty. The rent is pretty standard and on par with the area. I loved having the fob to enter the building. Made me feel secure. I'd highly recommend to anyone looking for an apartment in the area to rent from these guys."
"I’ve lived here for going on 7 years in the Spink building. Office staff is friendly and maintenance is super speedy and has ALWAYS responded same day, usually within an hour. No rodents/bedbugs. The building is old so mold will happen if you are not keeping up with your cleaning, but is manageable with regular cleaning. Amenities have always been available as advertised and if something happens the main office makes you aware by email/flyers in each building entrances/exits. Our elevator is old and loud but reliable. It has only gone out a few times in the seven years and was quickly repaired. Rent has increased to 1038 from 780 in 2016. To me that’s reasonable, I’m not an expert though."
