Reviews of The Abby
"It's 5 months since I applied, I gave them everything they asked they never call or email, one month after I called they said I'm not qualify but the stay with those $500.00 security deposits. Every time I called they always have an excuse. The manager end up the call on my face more than 5 times. Please be careful with this company."
"I have been a long time resident here and majority of my past experience with management and condition of the community has been poor. Ever since the new management has came in the summer of 2023 I have been seeing major and minor changes being implemented to restore the complex. I want to give a huge thanks to Mr. Roberto and his staff as they have been considerate, respectful, and most importantly, really seem to care about the residents and the community - something I have not seen in the past to this extent. Although the problems they face may not have been their fault, they have been doing great work to resolve issues to the best of their abilities. When it comes to personal requests that I have brought up surrounding the condition of my own apartment, the staff listens and takes my opinions and concerns seriously. I know it is impossible to fulfill all personal requests but management really seems to try and meet in the middle so that everyone is satisfied. I hope this new management is here to stay for a long time as I can see the organization really turning things around for the betterment of the residents. To all the staff, keep up the hard work and I hope you all are here to stay for the long run."
"Edit: This is changing to one star. I moved out from here on 9-29-23, and received a NOTICE OF WARNING OF EVICTION, on the see door stating I owed them over $400. (An old neighbor of mine sent me a picture of it) It looks as if they forgot to charge me for 3 months of utilities and now want it all up front. Keep in mind this is a place I already moved out of and put in a notice to vacate well over a month ago. If my neighbor had never sent me that picture, I would have never known. And I'm sure an eviction would have appeared on my record had I not paid it. I have tried calling 17 times today, left one voicemail, and have gotten no word back. This is beyond unprofessional, so be ready to deal with things like this if you move in here. Lived here for 6 years and the OLD management was god awful to say the least. The new management (moved in around the late summer of 2023) seems to be slightly better. They're renovating most, if not all, of the units there. So if you're applying here, just be careful."
"I called the Deputy Mayor in charge of Neighborhoods who sent mowers to cut the grass, finally, in May. I called Congressman Carson's Office who also gave assistance with the owner of the complex. I called the Health Department Director Dr. Virginia A. Caine, who immediately took care of the trash problem that had built up for 60 plus days. What you see in the picture is not true. The pool has not worked in three plus years. The playground has been in shambles the last three plus years. The clubhouse has been in disrepair for the same three plus years. Recently, the last 45 days, August 2023 the new manager has been able to affect change. The Latinx complex behind this one is in perfect repair and is our understanding the same owner. The citizens of this complex are largely made up of our African American population. Respectfully submitted Global United Nations Peace Ambassador Dr. Angela J. Nealy, B.S., M.S., Ph.D. Update: 3 October 2023 Many, many, many changes have taken place since the first reporting. The complex is under new management and many improvements are underway. Painting, repairs and the playground for the children has been restored. Thank you, Thank You, Thank you Global United Nations Peace Ambassador NGO Dr. Angela J. Nealy, B.S., M.S., Ph.D."
"This is my first review and unfortunately, for this place it will be a negative one but they have earned every single word. Renter beware!!! This apartment complex is garbage. I've been here almost 5 years... not by choice but because of family circumstances. The first few years were decent. But since then, this place has gone downhill. Especially in the last 6-9 months because of the "supposed" new ownership. I'm sure it's only going to get worse. This place changes management and personnel so often it's a joke. I have yet to see a same person twice. The new management is HORRIBLE and LACKS communication. The new manager is RUDE!!!! Good luck with any issues being resolved. I have yet to get a callback from months ago. And they only keep giving excuses and the office people keeping lying to get you to go away. They don't answer the phone at all. Ohh and I won't go into detail about maintenance.... it is basically NON-EXISTENT! I will definitely be moving as soon as my contract is up. I'm done with this place and don't want to even deal with this new management. Go somewhere else!!! Please read the other bad reviews because I can confirm and agree completely."
