Reviews of Flats at Stones Crossing
"I stopped for a tour today and wanted to see multiple floor plans. I was worried because I did not schedule ahead, but Brandi went above and beyond to make me feel welcome. The property is gorgeous, and knowing that I would have Brandi as my property manager sealed the deal for me. I can't wait to call this place home!"
"My boyfriend and I moved into this apartment complex in April 2023, initially excited about the promising features it offered. The complex was brand new, with plans for a walking path and a dog park – a great fit for us with our two dogs. The location was convenient, nestled in a quiet area, and the rent seemed reasonable compared to other luxury apartments. However, our experience since moving in has been consistently disappointing. Upon arrival, the complex was still under construction, and the promised amenities, including the dog park and walking path, were far from completion. Even now, accessibility is a major issue due to insufficient grass in the park and sections of the path surrounded by dirt and mud, exacerbated by this year's heavy rainfall. Parking has proven to be a nightly challenge, with an inadequate number of spaces for tenants, and the absence of assigned parking for either tenants or visitors. The garage options are not justifiably priced. Additionally, electronic rent payments incur processing fees, regardless of the payment method chosen. Contrary to what was communicated during our move-in, water and sewage are not metered individually. Our recent bill, exceeding $200 for a month, shocked us and our neighbors, given that both apartments only house two residents. The office's explanation that billing is based on apartment size and occupancy contradicted our previous experiences in Indianapolis and Greenwood, where water and sewage costs were significantly lower, usually below $50. Unexpected maintenance calls have become routine, despite the complex being brand new. The latch system, which replaces traditional keys, has persistent issues, with the back door latch leading to the walking path dysfunctional since our move-in. One of our most frustrating challenges is the constant noise from our neighbors, particularly those above us. This issue appears widespread, as conversations with other neighbors have revealed similar disturbances. The lack of soundproofing in the buildings becomes evident with daily thudding and thumping from upstairs, lasting for hours on end. Attempts to address these concerns with the management through emails, calls, and in-person visits have been fruitless. The frustration has led us to contemplate breaking the lease early, even with the substantial $4,000 termination fee. However, upon reviewing the lease, we discovered that early termination is only permitted with proof of relocation exceeding 50 miles for employment reasons. Despite promises of a secure package handling system, the reality has fallen short of expectations. The mailroom door is frequently left unlocked, leaving packages exposed and unsupervised. The envisioned package room, complete with text notifications and access codes upon package arrival, has yet to be realized. This feature, for which we believe we are still being charged, remains unavailable, making the handling and security of our delivered packages a considerable concern. In summary, our experience at this apartment complex has been far from satisfactory, and we hope to alert potential tenants to the challenges we've faced."
"Overall very positive experience. One complaint. I live in the front building on the first floor. The maintenance crew appear to work out of a couple of closets on the south side of the hall. Shoe footprints, mud, clippings etc sometimes left on hallway floor. Not a good look when I have guests over. I’m not complaining about maintenance. They do a good job. But if you are going to work out of those closets the area should be cleaned when the work is finished. Part of the problem is when we all took possession of our garages the floors were filthy. Again overall very happy here but you asked so I’m telling you. Thanks"
"I moved into Flats on June, and my experience has been awesome so far. They are always very quick to answer any questions I may have or help with any needs I may have. Super thankful to have such a good landlord for my family."
"My mom moved into these apartments in mid May, and immediately reported there was some type of large stain either glue or paint in the carpet. The stain is hard to the point you can’t even walk on it with no shoes on because it kinda pokes your feet and it’s right in the walkway not to mention it looks like a poop stain. After a few weeks of following up with them, maintenance finally made it up there to try and clean it, but told her they were going to have to replace the carpet. It is now October 3 and there has been no resolution. Both my mom and I have called numerous times requesting to speak to the property manager and she never calls back. I understand things got delayed with the tornado, but this is ridiculous. I’m assuming they don’t really care about getting it taken care of because one young ladies that I spoke with on the phone said oh don’t worry she won’t get charged at move out. Insinuating that they’re not going to fix it. This is pure laziness, because there’s no way they should’ve missed this in the walk through with the construction company. Super disappointing."
