"Everybody was very nice and helpful. They gave us some maps and gave us some directions."
"Not helpful at all. Before we left for the campground, I called Bedford and asked where to find water for our horses. She told me that there was water in Hickory Ridge campground. So we drove over there. There is no water. So drove to Bedford to find water. Several businesses said no. So we drove to the park office in Bedford. They were closed, but we found a water faucet on the side of their building, so we filled our 55 gallon tank. 48 hours later, we need more water. Horses go through a lot of water in 100° heat. Drove back to Bedford. I went in. As soon as she spoke, I knew she was the one who told me the water was at the other campground. I said, well, there's no water at that campground you suggested. She told me it was the Tell City office who told me. I didn't call Tell City. I called Bedford. I asked for a map. She said it was online. I said I couldn't find it. I found maps for all the other campgrounds in the district, but the one I was staying in didn't come up. She tried to tell me how to find it. Then she couldn't find it because it doesn't exist online. Her solution was to pay $15.00 for a map in the store. Really?!!! Came outside to find husband getting the 3rd degree over getting water. I'm not really sure if they actually want you in those woods, especially if you are bringing horses. They made it really tough to stay calm and collected. Found out several days later, the water company in the area had offered to hook up the campground to piped water but they had refused that offer. Just lovely! The woods were beautiful and peaceful. The Bedford office was not!"
"Drove all the way to Bedford just to find out they are only open to the public by appointment - totally understandable but that information should be able rather than having hours posted online that aren't at all accurate."
"Caution. This is not a trailhead but a visitor office. Only open during the week. There is a stand with maps but it doesnt show the area nearby. A bit confusing when trying to find a good trail nearby. Had to look up each trail map on google to find where it was. Fix this and we'll gladly give 5 stars."
