The Poetry Garage

"I would steer clear of this parking garage. My car got broken into so I called the parking garage to notify them and they proceeded to tell me earlier in the day a customer called to report 3 individuals suspiciously going into cars. The only thing this garage did was kick them out and make note of them on video camera. What good is that information going to do without sharing it with the police??? I'm sure others had their cars broken into here as well especially with their non-existant security presence. I have never seen any sort of security patrols the entire time i have parked here. They did not file any police report and proceeded to tell me that the police told them unless they damage the garage property they can't do anything about it. Which is 100% incorrect if you call the Chicago police department they will tell you the correct way to handle these incidents is to file a police report. Lazy security is what it comes down to and they have zero procedures in place for when insidents like this happen. I'm making sure I tell everyone not to park at your garage including my entire company as well as my friends company who buy parking passes at your garage! Originally when I spoke to the general parking attendant he was very nice and sympathetic to my situation but I cannot say the same for your supervisor Nick he was cold and give the impression that he can care less. I hope the owner sees this post and does something about how they handle these incidents. Just horrible!"

"On 12/9 2023 I and about 100 other cars were stuck in this garage for over an hour because of malfunctioning gates. The security gaurd had no number to call in case of an emergency like this. And was unable to open the gates so he said. I spoke to a couple people on the intercom and they opened the gate for one car . They did not understand the problem. I asked that the gates be left open so everyone could get out but to no avail. This gatage should have an attendant so they can see the problem . Or the security guard should have a number to reach a person to aleviate a problem like this."

"DO NOT EVER PARK HERE OR YOU WILL BE STUCK FOR HOURS!!! Show from The Lyric Opera House ended at 9pm and this lot had cars backed up all the way to the 6th floor not moving at all! It was AWFUL! Cars beeping everywhere… plans shot for so many… We had trouble getting in as the machine wouldn’t take our barcode. We rang the buzzer and got someone from across the world with horrible reception and we could barely hear or understand him. After some time, he said to take a ticket and try our barcode on the way out. In fear that wouldn’t work again, we called the local number at the lobby on our way out. Got a lady that just said to buzz the machine buzzer again if it doesn’t work. Needless to say… we weren’t the only ones with issues as we are now surrounded by angry people and beeping cars. Exhausted and wasted so much time! Again, DO NOT PARK HERE EVER. Horrible service!"

"Park here if you don’t want to go home. At this point we may just need to sleep in this car overnight. We have been sitting on level 5, where we parked for over a hour, still in line, moved maybe 50 feet just trying to leave. Also we pre-paid for our ticket on the parking garage’s own website and the QR code was denied at entry, attendant doesn’t know what to do, so we had to pay twice. This place is a nightmare, plenty of other options if you’re going to the lyric opera. Leaving this garage will take longer than the show we saw. Do NOT park here."

"Recently had my vehicle stay at Poetry Garage for 3 days (2 nights). Purchased the in and out package. They send you a QR Code to utilize in front of the red button beam. Takes a few swipes of it to get it to recognize it before it lifts the gate. This was the only complaint I had. Otherwise, no issues with this parking deck."
