Reviews
"The oldest house in Manhattan. An interesting and beautiful place. Can be combined with a visit to the Hispanic Society, which is nearby."
"Beautiful and peaceful park that is situated along the Morris Jamel Mansion. On the park you can see a sundial and a marker showing the distance of New York. Plenty of green grass to lay on. Not far away from the 163st C station."
"Be sure to visit and climb to the top of water tower atop the legacy Crotan aquaduct a short distance to the south east and proximate to the Highbridge crossing of the upper East River."
"Park is home to the Morris-Jumel Manse, good place for a walking tour, inside open by appointment. Home to a working sun-dial, (the movement is cast in genuine stone, works from the suns energy - as the stone warms, the shadow moves) annnd, the original carved stone street sign from the Kingsbridge Rd, 11 miles from N York is here, about a mile south of the 12 mile carved stone street sign in Inwood. Too much history here to fully cover."
"I was happily surprised at this off the beaten path historical site. The Morris-Jumel House was interesting and the grounds it sits on are simply beautiful. Though the house itself is a little rough, paint is chipping, furnishings meager due to lack of funds, it doesn’t take away from the uniqueness and mystery it holds."
