"Beautiful grounds Many of the furnishings are original. A vestibule, 2 small rooms (roped off) and a larger entertainment area. Very difficult to hear the soft spoken guide because a group of 25+ women joined. Approx 20 minute tour."

"My family and I took the guided tour of the Governor's Mansion, which was especially nice as it was decorated for Christmas and the weather outside was perfect. The grounds are beautiful and classically Richmond; brick, iron, magnolias, and boxwood as far as the eye can see. We learned from the guide a bit about how and when the building was constructed, various remodels over the years, what's still original, as well as some fun facts about former governors and times past. It only took about half an hour, was absolutely free, and was a great way to spend a piece of an afternoon. We did have to go through security and metal detectors and the entire Governor's Square area disrespects the rights enumerated in the Second Amendment, so keep that in mind before visiting."

"I have visited the Virginia’s Executive Mansion many times over the past 30+ years and todays visit was just beautiful. There are so many more modern paintings on the wall that reflect Virginia. I just cannot say enough about a lot of the old paintings being updated with newer ones; they are absolutely beautiful! Thank you Thank you designers!!!! As a side note: if you go; admire the beautiful arrangement on the piano of which the flowers were all grown at the mansion and arranged by the ‘head gardener’. Lovely!!!"
