About the Old South Meeting House
Located at 310 Washington Street in Boston, Massachusetts, the Old South Meeting House is a historic institution that serves as a museum, store, and popular tourist attraction. The institution offers visitors the opportunity to immerse themselves in the captivating stories of America's founding through diverse tour offerings.
Formed in January 2020 through a merger between the Bostonian Society and Old South Association, Revolutionary Spaces tells the intertwined stories of two of Boston’s most iconic sites—the Old State House and Old South Meeting House. The Old State House, constructed in 1713, was the center of royal government in the Massachusetts Bay colony and the site of many of the Revolution’s most dramatic events, including the Boston Massacre of 1770. The Old South Meeting House, built in 1729, was the largest building in colonial Boston and played a pivotal role in the events leading to the American Revolution, including the Boston Tea Party.
Revolutionary Spaces is dedicated to creating experiences that deepen our understanding of the past and provide a fresh perspective on the world we live in today. The institution offers thought-provoking exhibits, compelling tours, exciting educational offerings, and engaging public programs for visitors of all ages.
Whether you are interested in delving into Boston’s Revolutionary-era history or exploring how lessons from the past can inform our future, Revolutionary Spaces at Old South Meeting House provides educational and inspiring activities for all. Visit this historic institution to discover the people, places, and moments that started a revolution and built a nation.

Reviews of Old South Meeting House
"Worth the price of admission to walk around and learn some things. The displays were informative and being in the place where all these historical figures had been was cool"
"Very beautiful amazing place, I have made the 3D puzzle of this historic building because I love it's architecture and the revolutionary history associated with it, you can get a kit of my 3D by seaching for Models of Monuments on google/Instagram/Facebook or visit the Old State House Museum. It' s one of Boston's must-see places"
"Part of a dual site along with the Old State House, this is a smaller but still very interesting site. Along one side are displays charting the history of the site through the years based around different topics such as the Revolution and preservation. Don't miss the timeline close by as well, it's really helpful putting everything in context. You can sit in most of the pews too apart from the historical one in the corner! Everything is pretty much in the one room (rest rooms are on lower level) so this is a great one if you're short on time. At the moment, entry/exit is through the same door although there used to be a small gift shop on the lower level with an exit there so I'm not sure if that is permanently closed or has moved to seasonal opening."
"Beautiful historic building with some interesting exhibits. Had a bunch of great activities for the kids that including some learning about colonial Boston and the meeting house."
"This is a must stop during the Freedom Trail! So much history around this place! The exhibition was very interesting! Tickets $6 for adults and $3 for children under 12. They give military and some other discounts."
