About the Business
Auer Hall is a prestigious institution located at 200 Jordan Avenue in Bloomington, Indiana, United States. It is part of the Indiana University Bloomington campus and is housed within the Jacobs School of Music. The hall offers a variety of performance spaces, including an intimate 400-seat auditorium made possible by a generous gift from Ione B. Auer.
The hall is home to the Maidee H. and Jackson A. Seward Organ, known as C. B. Fisk, Op. 135, boasting nearly 4,000 pipes. Auer Hall is located on the second floor of the Simon Music Center, along with the intimate 100-seat Ford-Crawford Hall, designed for solo recitals and chamber music performances.
Within Merrill Hall, there is the historic Recital Hall, hosting performances by world-renowned musicians for over 70 years. The Conrad Prebys Amphitheater, dedicated in 2017, offers an outdoor performance venue for Jacobs School of Music students and faculty, as well as visiting artists.
Located next to the IU Arboretum, the Grand Carillon features 65 bells, including the original bells from the IU Metz Carillon. Renovated and upgraded with four new bells, the Grand Carillon is one of fewer than 30 grand carillons in the world.
Auer Hall, along with the other performance spaces within the Jacobs School of Music, provides state-of-the-art facilities for music and theater performances, recording and production, and rehearsal spaces for the school's various ensembles and groups.

"Awesome little performance hall! We watched the Harp Competition Champion Recital and the acoustics were great. Also, there was nice seating and the lighting was bright and positive. Would definitely go here again."
"It’s a magnificent concert hall. I heard the premiere of David Canfield’s Pictures at an Exhibitition of Paul Klee for organ and (greatly) expanded percussion. The acoustics are such that there is not a bad seat in the house. The 99 rank organ is a wonder."
"This is a great venue for musical performances. Auer Hall is intimate with outstanding acoustic."
