"Absolutely great golf course. I was hit in the side by a 250ish yard “warning shot” from a group of kids on the tee box behind us (as we were waiting for the green to clear). I reported it to the staff afterwards, and I believe the situation to be handled. Regardless, might be my favorite course in the Indy areas, and will absolutely return to play again."
"We just had our daughter's wedding here. Great experience! We had so many compliments about the food (we did a slider bar...amazing!!!). Marissa the coordinator was great to work with. The location was beautiful. My daughter couldn't get over how wonderful everything looked in the lodge. While it did rain a bit (completely unexpectedly...no rain forecasted) during the ceremony, it was still incredibly beautiful. We looked around at several venues and the price could not be beat for what you get here. We would definitely recommend the Purgatory."
"Unfortunately, I don't really see any reason to ever come back here. I will say, I didn't have a bad experience but I've paid green fees a 1/3rd of what they charge here and had a better experience. Rather than provide a rangefinder or GPS on the cart they have a (what I'm assuming is) complimentary app. Well, it's 2023. Everyone has a golf GPS app on their phone. Yet, places charging less offer more amenities. The cart paths were a death trap, too. It hasn't rained in a week, yet there were massive puddles collected in craters in the cart paths. Yet somehow, the course seemed otherwise excessively dry in areas. All in all, just not really sure what I paid for except to say I played at Purgatory. Because I really came away feeling like someone is just pocketing excess green fees based on some pre-established reputation this place has, but not actually putting any money into maintaining a high quality facility. I wish I'd have taken a picture of the wooden steps outside the pro shop. Another death trap."
"Nice course and layout. The pace of play was good, no issues. It was early in the season, so the heather didn't factor in at all. My only real issue from what we thought was going to be a top notch golf experience... The cart paths and the first yard or two around the cart paths need serious work!"
"I’m absolutely dumbfounded on how to play golf, but I was just as dumbfounded to know that there are monthly dinners here featuring a local winery or distillery. My friends raved about these events, so I joined them for two different dinner events. SUPERB. A bright and cheerful staff; food and service done with top notch quality and clockwork swiftness. A round of golf may stupefy me. But a round of wondrous dishes in their multi-course monthly dinners? Count me IN!! HIGHLY recommended."
