"APCO has the worst customer service when you have to call and speak to someone. I've only kept an account with them due to interest received on my accounts. I have worked at the same company for 6 years and always get paid on the same day. I've reached out to my HR group, and they told me that this pay cycle ran as normal (so no change from any previous pay cycle when I got my paycheck on Tuesday evening). This pay cycle APCO is holding my direct deposit paycheck 2 additional days. When I called to ask why, they don't even attempt to tell me why the change. Both employees talked over me and didn't even both to actually look and see if anything was different from previous pay cycles. Just blamed my employer over and over again in a condescending tone even though nothing has changed on my employer's side. I'm going to start looking for other banks/credit unions because interest is not worth dealing with this incompetence. I will say, employees in branch locations are very friendly and competent, but I've never had that experience when dealing with them over the phone."
"Made a deposit before the branch opened cash, in the night deposit. As of 10:00 no one has had time to make the deposit into my account. I don't think that is acceptable and they could not tell me when it would be deposited the lady on the phone said sometime today."
"I am warning anyone looking for a credit union/bank to NOT USE THIS ONE. It’s horrific. The app and website is super glitchy and faulty. The banks cannot and will not help you. They put a hold on my account the first week I opened the accounts (for absolutely no reason) and then their Zelle malfunctions and when it does NO ONE not even Zelle has access to anything. I actually got scammed through Zelle by someone misrepresenting them and all I wanted to know was why I wasn’t receiving money. It’s ridiculous and I lost A LOT of money. I’m immediately switching banks."
"We recently refinanced our mortgage due to the excellent interest rate and no closing costs offer. The experience with the MLO was fair at best. He was slow to respond, whited out information on the LE, got huffy with me when I was upset about the white out and asked for a clear LE and dumped me on someone else. Closing at the title company was a good experience. Then, three weeks post-closing, we received notice APCO would force-place insurance. Obviously, our Dec page was updated and provided with our supporting documentation prior to closing. I called the number on the letter, sent the Dec page again, was told via an email to wait 48 hours to follow up. I did and they still claim they had no insurance. The person I spoke with the second time contacted State Farm and confirmed I had insurance. However, my name is not even shown on the APCO records as a mortgagee or homeowner. I conclude APCO is a sexist organization who discounts women homeowners in favor of a male spouse. Additionally, we have been bombarded with at minimum one mailing per day wanting us to purchase Mortgage Life Insurance related to our APCO mortgage. So I also must conclude that signing an OptOut for third party sharing is also meaningless for this organization. Had I known all of this, I would have been inclined to pay a higher interest rate for better service."
"Not a good place for a long term savings account. A savings account is a place where your money can be kept safely, if they see no money added or withdrawn over a couple of months, they start charging a "fee" until the account is drained dry. The whole point of the account is to keep my money safe there. This should serve as an indicator to the type of bank this is."
