Reviews of Hampton Inn by Hilton Bourbonnais/Kankakee
"Avoid this hotel if traveling for business. Diamond Status business traveler. Poor management. Requested a slightly late checkout (12:30) so I can collect my belongings to travel to the airport after work. Hotel staff was rude and said it’s up to housekeeping to make that determination the next day whenever they get in. No consideration for status or any attempt to accommodate. There are many other local options."
"My stay was overall good the young man at the front desk was polite and helpful didnt talk much but an absolute pleasure to deal with got us to our room rather fast"
"Sadly, I had hoped to leave a good review, but overall our stay was disappointing. The room was fine. Basic. Beds were hard as rocks. My body hurt from head to toe in the morning. Floors were dirty in the edges and corners, specifically in the bathroom. There was animal hair on different surfaces everywhere. The finishes were cheap. Not typical of a Hilton. As I was leaving, I asked for a bottle of water. Despite being a Hilton Honors Member, I was told I would have to pay for it. Yet. They were giving out bags of pre-made breakfast, to include a bottle of water. I didn't want the food, because was heading to an all day event, where I would have to throw the food away. So, to save waste, I didn't take the bag, but she wouldn't let me have the water. It was ridiculous. Paid almost $200 for a dirty room, and couldn't get one bottle of water."
"The only reason why I give the hotel a 4 star rating for the location is because not many restaurants are open beyond 10:00pm in the immediate area. Not sure if it's the town or we were on the wrong main road in town. That road has many restaurants, but all restaurants other than Applebee's (which was crammed at 10:30pm) were closed. But, the hotel had a great selection of snacks for us to purchase, and, for being a hotel snack area, was reasonably priced. I know that is beyond the hotel's control, but if you need a late night meal in the area, you will have issues finding something. The staff was beyond excellent. We had a minor issue come up with the bathroom sink pipe leaking, but it was fixed, bathroom floor cleaned, and towels replenished during the time we were at a concert in the area. The room was clean, updated, and spacious for my wheelchair to get around. The room should get a 4.5 star rating, though, as the wheelchair accessible room didn't have a shower bench for the tub. Therefore, as a man that's wheelchair bound, I couldn't bathe in the morning. But, since I can't give a 4.5, I rounded up. If I am in the area again and need hotel accommodations, I would stay here again. I just need to be prepared for a shower bench situation and eat dinner before 10:00pm! :-)"
"The only issue is the policy of doing eggs with cheese one day and eggs with onions and peppers another. People who are allergic to onions or peppers can't eat the eggs they paid for on some days. And lactose intolerant people can't eat the eggs on other days... It is so simple and logical to do half and half each day they do omelets. Also because most Hamptons end breakfast at 11. I missed the 10 o'clock ending time the first day. Every staff member I talked to was very pleasant and enjoyable."
