"We have been using this business for about a year, and our child is still alive, so that's a strong positive. It's easy to keep tabs with the Brighwheel app, and they take all forms of payment. The children do activities and crafts and learn quite a bit, just like a preschool. The caregivers are friendly and prompt. However, the parking lot is TERRIBLE with huge holes that grow each time it rains. They have not even attempted to throw some gravel in "Lake Michigan," which is all but unavoidable to miss on your way in. Also, there is a giant rut to the left of the driveway at the drop-off area that continues to grow, which (in the last year, at least) has never been filled in. Yes, it is because people can't drive, but I know I am not the only one that has had their child step in it when it's full of water. The parking lot would cost a fortune to fix properly and probably hundreds of dollars to have the holes filled with gravel, but leaving this hazardous rut is the epitome of lazy. The absence of ventilation in their cooking area is very concerning, and possibly illegal. In the morning, the smell is so overpowering that I have had to change my shirt from being inside less than 2 minutes. (Even if using an electric range, VOCs are released that cause indoor air pollution, which isn't the greatest thing for well over 100 children to be forced to breathe in.) I have not entered this area, but there is simply no way there is a working exhaust fan. My summary is that I believe they are staffed with good people, but the owners take little pride in the facility. If you need somewhere to take your kid, they will do a good job—so long as you don't mind your child coming home smelling like they just did a shift at a restaurant, and you don't drive anything you care about or want to keep clean."
