"I was a former student at Compass Rose Academy and to be honest with you my experience wasn’t always the best but the out come of the program really did help me. The staff I used to have is a lot different from the new staff they have now but this program really did help me learn to step into my power and grow a lot within myself. I mean there are times this program wasn’t always the best but at the end of the day I will forever be grateful for the help I received."

"i was here for 7 months 4 years ago this place is pure torcher. When first arrived at the facility i was at my worst in life. After leaving my home and everything i knew was only allowed to speak to my parents once a week. On top of that wasn’t allowed to see my parents untill being there for one month . i struggled with self harm for years before i went to this place. i once self harmed when i was there and had to go to the hospital. i rode in a car alone with a man who no longer works there who was convicted of moslesting two younger boys who were in the whites program a year after i got out. On top of that i was forced to strip down to my underwear infront of a man and a woman who worked there as they were accusing me of hiding some sort of sharp object in my clothes. then i was placed in something called the “ refocus unit “ which was basically solitary confinement. locked in a small room forced to sleep on a mat on cement. where we were not allowed to come out of the room at all . you can imagine how traumatic this could be for a 14 year old girl who was clearly struggling mentally and has had previous sexual abuse. and many other girls were treated the exact same way throughout my time here. if you didn’t want to eat the food they provided they would practically starve you. you were treated as someone who deserved punishment when all anyone was really there for was to get help with what they were going through mentally."

"I have a cousin who used to go there, and apparently, they’re getting shut down for child abuse. Well deserved, the people who run this deserve jail for the trauma that they caused these girls."

"I was there March 2019-March 2020 and have spent the last 3 1/2 years processing the trauma I dealt with there. I don’t know a single person I was there with who didn’t leave and turn to substances, unhealthy sex, or toxic relationships to cope with the abuse that went on up there. If your daughter tells you it’s bad and Mr. Mike tells you she’s trying to manipulate you. Listen to your daughter not Mr. Mike. Staff will lie to you. Trust your daughter send her somewhere else. DO NOT SEND HER ANYWHERE THAT DOES NOT HAVE PATIENT REVIEWS! Compass Rose was the reason I dropped out of high school and got hooked on drugs. Even after processing the trauma for 3 1/2 years, becoming successful, overcoming addiction, and unlearning everything they instilled in me, I still wake up screaming from nightmares most nights. My parents have also been in therapy for years trying to process the second hand trauma from making the decision to keep me there. My best friend was sent to Shelterwoods in MO and had a FABULOUS experience, as well as Heartlight in Texas. There are good programs out there however this one needs to be shut down."

"If I could give negative 10 stars about this place I would. I am a former inmate and let me tell you the abuse we endured was horrendous. I’m sure no one will see this review because Mike is really good at covering his filthy paws. When you see him ask him about the suicide he covered up while I was there. Ask him how many girls have killed themselves after leaving this place. This place deserves a lawsuit and to be shut down. It’s time these girls speak up and tell the truth about this place. If you’re a parent seeking help please do not send her here. They will kill her. I spent 10 months there and I’m still having nightmares of this place. I have lost 3 colleagues. One of them I found at CRA. This place is torture please do not send any more girls here."
