"My child attended for 2.5 days. Day one I could tell that my child liked the experience and was enjoying her new journey. Day two at drop off my child was doing well as well, but day two at pick up when I arrived my child burst into tears at the sight of my face. I sat in my car in front of the daycare for at least 10 minutes before I could get my child to calm down. On the third day my was crying her eyes out as I was walking out the door at drop off. I tried not to think much of it because I understand children could need a moment to adjust to new settings. But that afternoon I decided to do a no notice early pick up. Upon arrival my child is in a pack and play standing up crying her eyes out as all the other children are asleep. I notified the manager of this and asked what her methods were for children in such situations. She notified me that they try to soothe for a limited amount time, they try to offer things like bears for the kids to sleep with, and they allow the children to cry for 10-15 mins at a time. Children can take months to adjust to new people, new environments, and new experiences (my child has never experienced sleeping in a pack and play). To think that she would allow my child to cry everyday while in her care for 10-15 mins (sometimes more when they can’t get to the child due to other things happening like having to care for other children) really didn’t make me feel like this would be the proper care choice for my child. Parents please ask as many questions as possible because had I known this before she wouldn’t have gotten a dime from me let alone the one months payment that I gave her thinking this would be a great fit for us."
