"We enjoyed our visit. We are still enjoying our mints and oil we purchased. Our dosent "peppermint patty" was full of information and fun to listen to. The story of this town will come alive."

"Charming little museum to visit. Our tour guide was very nice and we enjoyed our visit. Note: hours on google are wrong. Actual hours during the summer are Fridays and Saturdays from 10-3pm - closed for lunch from 12-1. If you wish to visit during off hours you need to schedule an appointment for a volunteer to meet you."

"Loved this place. The tour by 'Peppermint Pattie' was fantastic. She just exudes passion, and brought the history to life. I had no idea that Lyons was once the peppermint capital of the world, and I also had no idea that a tour of an old peppermint oil manufacturer would be so engaging, but it absolutely was. Highly reccommed."

"We enjoyed a tour of this historic site located along the Erie Canal. Ms. Patrica Alena, also known as “Peppermint Patty”, a Historian and docent, led the tour and introduced us to a by-gone era which allowed us an exciting look into the entrepreneurial skills of Mr. H.G. Hotchkiss. Hotchkiss made Lyons, NY the Peppermint capital of the world. The artifacts, paintings, antiques and memorabilia kept us mesmerized as we toured the 1841 building which is chock full of architectural surprises. It’s a must see! We give it five stars!"
