"I am very upset with the approach the school districts has taken when it comes to the matter of contention surrounding the ongoing bullying and targeting of my son, Logan Ross ! I am very disappointed and frustrated with the continuous bullying and harassment we have been having to deal with when it comes to bus driver for Reland elementary , Randy Mathis, who works for The department of Elmore county transportation along with multiple students on his bus route. Every time we complain or take action it has been brushed to the side, but no more will we continually let this go because now it has put child’s life in danger. It seems that my son is the one who always gets in trouble, even though there’s a camera on the bus. Mr. Mathis continues to have selective vision and only sees when he retaliates but never see what initiated his reaction. My child is a very intelligent young African American boy in a predominately white school, Reland Elementary, where he is to himself but yet and still gets assaulted, targeted, harassed, and bullied continuously! Enough is enough! You may ask why I include race in this complaint well a child of redland middle school was allowed to call my child multiple racial slurs which I will not repeat and gave him a liquid to drink, which was later found out to be rubbing alcohol. However, in this situation where my child was not only verbally but also physically assaulted but multiple people he was the only one written up by the bus driver. Being bullied by students and an adult bus drivers, Mr. Randy Mathis,Bus number 22–25 is unacceptable and we will not stand by and let this continue without affirmative action. I don’t know what kind of adult you are allowing to drive your bus routes and will sit back and let three students jump on an elementary school child and sit on his head while you watch and do nothing! You do not deserve to drive for any school district! You actually give a kid a water bottle to pour on my son in and entirely different occasions which everyone brushed under the rug! I am beyond upset and frustrated with Elmore County Board of Education and the department of transportation. Please handle this situation appropriately. My son is a target. A victim not a violator!"
"I am more than outdone with the school districts handling of issues dealing with my grandson! We have been having issues with the bus driver, Randy Mathis, and students on the bus bullying him. This continually go sideways when we complain. It seems that my grandson is the one who always gets in trouble, even though there’s a camera on the bus. Mr. Mathis continues to have selective vision and only sees when he retaliates but never see what initiated his reaction. He attends Redland elementary school and is academically sound. But there is no kid that could keep his grades up when he is being bullied by students and adult bus drivers, Mr. Randy Mathis Bus, 22–25!! I don’t know what kind of adult you are to allow three middle schoolers to jump on an elementary school child and sit on his head while you watch and do nothing! Shame on you! You do not deserve to drive for any school district! You actually give a kid a water bottle to pour on my grandson! How dare you!?!? I am beyond furious with this entire situation! It does not help that the vice principals son is one of the culprits. Elmore County Board of Education, please handle this situation appropriately. My grandson is a target. A victim not a violator!"
