Reviews of Home2 Suites by Hilton Indianapolis Keystone Crossing
"Great for dogs. I'd give 3.5 stars if I could, but rounded down because the room had a stale dog smell. They cleaned the hair well, but the room air wasn't on so the room was stagnant and the stale dog smell was strong. That was fixed by turning on the air, but the air handler doesn't have a "fan" option, so you just have to keep changing the temperature if you want to turn on the fan. All in all, I was able to be just fine despite being allergic to dog, so mostly just smell. The TV had an option for "live TV" but only a few channels worked - none of the local channels. I prefer to turn on the news for some noise/info after I wake up, so this was a negative for me. There were plenty of towels and the surfaces were all cleaned, just the carpet and fabric still had the dog smell. But the bed was fine. The windows are thin and let in a lot of cold (the temp dropped 25-30 degrees while here) and a fair bit of noise. The noise could be masked by the air handler, but since it didn't have a "fan" option, it would turn on and off. One of the mornings, they had a transformer blew - not their fault and the staff handled it as best as they could given they mostly had to wait for AES to come fix it. The breakfast was the same both mornings I went down. Scrambled eggs, biscuits and gravy, polish sausage slices, and some potatoes. They also had cold cereal, yogurt, and fruit. They have a waffle maker and bread and bagels to toast. Food quality at these is never top notch, but this was particularly bland. They do have hot sauce packets and honey, though, so that's a plus! The coffee is good too. All in all, not bad. And they do advertise as dog friendly, so if I had booked it (my boss booked it for me for business) I probably would have chosen elsewhere. Good service, ok food, no local TV, and nice room except for the smell and air handler."
"This was the worst Hilton /Home2 location I have ever stayed at. The front desk including Ms. Nova was amazing. I will say the front desk was very friendly. Upon arrival, at 4pm , we checked in and room 325 was horrible. There was stains on my sheets , some of the wash cloths was gray and some yellowish dingy color. There was some type of dark stain on the shower floor. It smelled like dogs, I asked if I could have a room where dogs haven’t been. I was told they didn’t have separate rooms and can’t guarantee a dog hadn’t stayed in my room. I contacted and left several messages that following Monday and Tuesday, to speak to manager. I was told the manager was in a meeting and then second time I called the manager was busy. Well I think it was very unprofessional, that the manager never returned my call. I couldn’t change rooms since they were short cleaning staff. The young lady did come change my sheets and gave me new wash cloths. The sill looked very dingy and old. The shower I guess she couldn’t get the stain out. Had to put a towel on shower floor to even shower. Great location, but for this to be only a little of a year old , it has a lot of issues."
"Overall a great hotel, clean, with lots of in room amenities, decent breakfast options. My biggest issue was that the window didn’t have proper weather insulation and a freezing draft was constantly coming through, thanks goodness for the vinyl black out curtain that contained most of it."
"Surprised to see all the poor reviews. I was thrilled with this hotel and we stay away from home ALOT. Front desk was pleasant and swift. Room was quite large, clean and practically new. Bed’s comfortable. Tv was a great size. Water pressure and temperature in shower was acceptable. We did run out of TP but got some from the front desk as no housekeeping service for a 3 night stay apparently. Breakfast was mediocre but better than grab and go. Plenty of seating in breakfast area however uncomfortable and cold as front doors or right there and it’s terribly cold this time of year. Elevators were quick. Kitchenette was an added bonus. Walking distance to restaurants and a designer mall. Would return without a doubt!"
"My wife and I stayed 1 night at this location. We checked in at a reasonable time in late afternoon. The room I selected through the Hilton app was "not available" so they moved us to a different room. The next morning at 8am, we were jostled awake by the sound of repeated attempts to use a card key to open our dead-bolted door. I thought at first it was a guest mistakenly attempting to enter the wrong room, but no. When I got up to answer the actual nocking on the door, I noticed that the hotel's *smart* system was displaying a "Welcome" message on the TV for a guest's name that was not us. And at the door was a person from the front desk who "wasn't sure if there was anybody in this room". When I later questioned this event at the front desk, the manager gave the excuse that "the system is new" and they were still learning it. They also said we were registered as a "no-call, no-show". If not for another guest's welcome message showing on the screen, I would probably believe that. After another hour, the TV turned back on again displaying a welcome to us again as it did when we entered the day before. Another oddity, though not one worthy of a such a low rating, it takes 5-10 minutes of running both the sink and shower on the hot setting before the water is bearably warm. It does get hot after several more minutes. It just feels so wasteful to need to run water for so long to be able to take a comfortably warm shower. On the positive side - The room was quite clean; the bed was comfy; the toilet paper was relatively decent for a hotel; the included breakfast was standard quality, but enjoyable. Other negatives - Rooms on the same side as the elevator are subject to highway noise from the I465 bypass. We are unlikely to stay at this location again."
