"What an amazing place in the community to encourage curiosity in children! How does this work? Why does this happen? What will happen if I do this? Can I really do that? Where will this go? All great questions that can be explored at the Homewood Science Center! This was our first visit, and my 5yo twins had a blast learning about different careers where a STEM education can be applied, building roadways and pathways, weighing objects, adjusting weight on pulleys, coding a caterpillar, connecting tubes for a ball drop, seeing the components behind a wall, and upcycling materials to create a take-home-craft. We read a book, counted bones, and played with other curious children. There were cleaning supplies on hand in the maker’s space as well as hand sanitizer. The space will bright with colors and ample comfortable, child-appropriate seating. Would we come back? Heck yeah! Thank you, Mr. Charlie, and all the other wonderful staff at HSC for a fun Friday filled with learning."
