"Don't go to this campus, go to Huntsville. It's a night and day difference. Went to my first week of classes Fall 2021 & was removed from roll after the add drop date. I had already accepted financial aid yet was removed because they told me I did not send my high school transcript when I did. I told them to check again because I had to pay TWICE for my high school and my previous college transcripts to be sent over.. I heard them talk amongst themselves in the back. She found my email & began to process it. The other woman came back out and said it'll take 2 to 3 business days for my transcript to process. Of course they tell me this on the add / drop date, meaning I have no time to wait for them to correct their mistake. They said there was nothing they could do & I would just have to attend next semester... UNACCEPTABLE! I had to attend school this semester or pay back thousands of dollars in financial aid & VA money. I left in tears and drove to the other campus & explained my situation. The advisors and business office people at Huntsville were SO much more understanding and kind to me. They also believed that they needed to fix this mistake on behalf of Calhoun Community College so it was nice to see the pride in the workplace these people took. They placed me into the classes I was trying to attend in Decatur with no problem. I will never go back!! P.S. what kind of school doesn't have any kind of food service when there literally no where to eat for miles... at least put out a microwave so we can bring stuff from home. Sheesh."
"Bro they legit have people that don't even work there in the admissions office, they tried to tell me they didn't have my transcripts and they couldn't admit me to the school even after I had already paid. Turns out they had my transcripts the entire time and couldn't figure it out because the admissions office is full of student aids. Barely able to navigate without having to walk through other buildings or go all the way around the campus."
"The administration does not care about you. They do not care if you are a student or an employee, they do not care about you. They do not care about your kids, they do not care about the job you have to work on the weekend to make ends meet. The top administration will continue to rake in money for themselves and make sure they’re providing both employees and students with as little as they possibly can. All you are is either potential money or potential labor. You are a commodity to be used to the benefit of people you don’t even know. The highest paid are coiffed and in state owned vehicles while the people that actually work with the students wonder if they’ll have enough money for food."
"A little bit difficulty navigating the campus as the on-line map did show where buildings were but didn't supply any of the street names. Career Advisor Felicia Williams provided very helpful information and is a credit to the Career Services Department."
"Fantastic growing school with a nationally recognized nursing program! The professors are wonderful and want their students to succeed. The campus is gorgeous and has a touch of that old Alabama feel to it. They offer a lot of activities and keep students involved to gain the most out of their college experience. The best thing about about this community college is exactly that- helping locals in the community!"
