Reviews of Hilton Garden Inn Bloomington
"We struggled to get out of the parking garage because of a power outage. This wonderful woman named Briana (I believe) came out and helped us, I believe she said she worked at the hotel. Nicest woman I've ever met. This review is for her"
"We're one night into our night stay. The elevator is broken. The rooms are noisy. The heater pops loudly all night. The beds are uncomfortable. No breakfast is provided and the restaurant is closed. We got up at 5 am to make sure we had hot water but it was ice cold. Even after running it for 30 minutes it never got warm. When we asked the front desk if they could check it the attendant would barely acknowledge us despite nobody else in the lobby. The attendant told us it was because the temperature outside was so cold and there was nothing they could do but maintenance would be in at 7. Well, sorry, but I need to be at the office by 7:30. The temperature outside was 20 degrees warmer than the night before but the water was hot then. Rude staff. Below-average accommodations. Maybe I haven't stayed at a Hilton recently but this hotel is nowhere near what I'd expect, even if it was a Motel 6."
"When arriving, the front signage is barely seen. Other signage is either missing or very confusing. Was then assigned a room and the first one was under construction. When I went back to the front desk, I was asked if I wanted maintenance. FOR A ROOM UNDER CONSTRUCTION? Then I was given another room with 1 king bed. I was there with my son and had booked for a room with 2 queens. Went back down to the front desk and was given another room. Was told at that time I would be receiving free breakfast for the 2 mornings we would be there. On check out, the breakfasts were credited but not the total of 10.00 in tips. I was told tips were not included. I would not recommend this hotel at all."
"We booked this before I even looked at the reviews. When I got to the hotel I looked at the reviews and probably would not have booked it had I looked ahead of time. But I'm glad I didn't because I actually really liked the hotel. The biggest bummer was the parking though. We had to pay whether you were on the street or the parking garage behind the building. Which I thought was a bit ridiculous. And it was like that surrounding the entire area. I could not find free parking anywhere. They were still having problems with one of the elevators but it didn't bother us as I used the stairs half the time and we never had to wait in line for the elevator as it was a slow weekend as far as traffic. It's in a great location as far as shopping, sightseeing, restaurants, etc. The staff was great and there is free coffee at all times. Lobby was always clean and there were plenty of places to sit, whether you're on your own or with others. I liked the room and it was spacious and clean. You do hear the traffic outside, but the other option is to be on the other side of the building and have a view of the parking garage."
"The staff was friendly and the room was nice. It was a nice size and the bed was comfortable. The bathroom was small but functional. It had a nice little closet area as well as a small dresser. The attached parking garage elevator was broken, which I've been told is pretty typical. The area the hotel is in is very walkable, with many restaurants and attractions nearby."
