"Have had an absolute horrendous time ordering through the room place. We ordered a TV console in November 2023. We were told it was at a IL location and would be shipped to IN and be ready for pickup on 12/20 - whoch was part of the reason we picked this TV console because we were looking to get something quickly. We then got a call that the delivery date changed to 1/24, then again told us changed again to 2/7. Now they changed it again to 2/21. There is no reason it should take this long when the order is coming from a neighboring state and we're losing faith that we're going tk get this ever. Would not recommend ordering anything from the RoomPlace as they clearly give you incorrect info at the time of purchase to make a sale and are not good at following through on promised dates. Update: I received a text on 2/18 to confirm the delivery date of 2/21 and that I would receive another text on 2/20 with a 3 hour window. On 2/20 I never received a text with a timeframe - so that was the first red flag. Today (2/21 - delivery day) no communication still so we called the Chicago customer service. They said they called me on 2/19 to let us know the console was no longer available (which I have no phone record of a call). This should have been communicated WAY earlier as I had already received the delivery notification. The manager told us their policy is to confirm the customer does not wish to get another item before processing a refund; our understanding is since we never received a call they would have kept our money indefinitely. Clearly the Roomplace already pulled stunts to win an order but now they extended that with an attempt to retain the purchase funds without supplying the console. Furthermore, the manager confirmed the console was never available in any Roomplace location and we were "misled at time of purchase". After the first review post the Roomplace asked for us to reach out to their customer service email, which we did, and received no response. The abysmal show of customer service or business practices are evident in all facets of the Roomplace. 3.5 months later we are finally able to move on and look for a new TV console from a different company and will for sure be looking out for our refund since they clearly had intents to keep it. Again I do not recommend purchasing anything from the RoomPlace as they are clearly a shady business."

I went into the store not expecting much and I’m very confident now that I got the right pieces for our space. "Follow Up: Their solution to my problem was Googling non affiliated service companies for me to reach out to pay out of pocket to get fixed. Thanks for all the help.... Extremely frustrated with the RoomPlace quality of their products. Shame on us for attempting to try and buy a couch a second time. The salesman tried to emphasize how durable the products are, even jumping up and down on the couch in the show room and showing us how "durable" the couch is and the fact that it would last well onto when my daughter went to college. He then even convinced me to buy the protection plan and said it would cover any issues we may have throughout the next five years. Well surprise, within a little over years, a tear comes up and what happens? We get denied from Guardian because it's on a seam. Even though it was caused by my children, they still denied it because it was on a seam. What furniture store puts a seem directly on the seat cushion directly where someone sits??? How could they not expect it to tear. Super frustrated and will NOT return to the RoomPlace. I'm out several hundred for the protection plan that is worthless."
"I will say, I wanted to receive my furniture first before I wrote a review! This is definitely one of those instances where I'm glad I trusted my instincts! Bobby Gibson was an amazing salesman and I will definitely be purchasing from this location again because of him! This was my first time purchasing a large piece of furniture and Bobby definitely made the process alot smoother! The sectional I purchased is amazing and comfortable! So please give this location a chance and ask for Bobby Gibson! Thanks Room Place!"
