"Wonderful school!!! I can not say enough good things about the entire staff. All the teachers are wonderful we have not had one that wasn't the best. They truly care about the children."
"This school is overrated. The principal isn't the most polite to the children. She just doesn't know how to speak to them. Her connection isn't strong at all. My daughter's teacher is nice, though. However, I feel when approached by a parent, her reaction is personal. I have been teaching children and adults for 14 years. I know when connections are strong and professional. Now the school itself is beautiful but they could do much better in learning how to be great role models as well as understanding that this is ELEMENTARY SCHOOL...not a prison! I have never heard of being scolded for talking during your lunch period. Who in the world came up with that rule?! Red cup (flipped for no talking) and green cup (flipped for time to talk). This is NOT a positive form of class management nor respect. How could someone take a child's right of freedom of speech? I don't agree with their methods at all. My child comes from great schools and we move a lot due to military affiliation. We never had any issues until now. It is ridiculous. My children always had very respectful, professional and veteran teachers. We come here and some teachers don't even know that you are to refer to all PARENTS/GUARDIANS by prefix and last name. It is of professional as well as respectful nature. I mean seriously...that's PROFESSIONAL EDUCATOR 101. You're unable to demand respect when you don't respect others. However, the educational portion...as far as the subjects being taught..are okay. My husband and I choose to work with our children based off another state's student lesson plans to keep them ahead of the game, though. With doing that, our children excel in everything. I have 2 biological children and 6 adopted children. I know what's best for my children. All of my adopted children are of adult age (adopted when they were teens) and successful in all that they do. My biological children have been doing wonderful in everything as well...from academics to athletics...exceeding EVERYONE expectations. All I'm saying is the school isn't the best but people from here says it is the best elementary school for this county. That is the only reason why we chose to live in this area versus Semmes. However, Daphne area is beautiful and ALL of their schools are GREAT!!! 9/10 and 10/10 ratings for those schools. We still plan on moving out that way after another year here just to better our children education if things don't get better at Collier and that includes lightening up on the rules. It's truly unnecessary to be ao strict with such young children. They are in school for about 8 hours which is a workday. Why does it hurt for the children to relax and have conversation with their friends during lunch? That is like telling them they are unable to play during recess. Really?"
"Amazing teachers! Nurse is so caring!! Trustworthy staff all around! Your kid is in great hands here!"
"Today was the 2nd day of school and there were a few children that did not know where to go. One child stop and asked my wife where he was suppose to go so of course my wife found the closest room and asked a teacher where the little boy was suppose to go once she read the card on his bookbag...the teacher was very nice told us where the classroom was so my wife and I was gladly going to help the child find his teacher until we were stopped by the principal Mrs. Shropshire who was holding a conversation with another teacher at the time. She informed us that he would find his way and that we don't need to stop by our child's class because they may cry. The problem I have is there are not enough adults around to help the children and after 2 weeks we will not be able to take our 3 year olds to class and I am not comfortable with knowing that my 3 year olds will be wondering the halls of the school until someone notice that they are not in class. Something has to be done."
"I don't understand the BIG deal about Class Dojo when the teachers don't even do anything with it. Why tell everyone to download it so you can see your child's activity and performance at school when they never let you know what's going on anyway??"
