"Steak tacos were very dry and tasteless. Lengua tacos were okay, very soft as they should be but did not taste like anything. No salsa nor Lemons. You are better off going to a real Mexican restaurant. Pancho was the ONLY HAPPY person in this store. Everyone else and I mean everyone there was miserably unhappy. You get 3 stars because Pancho is very welcoming and very helpful. Pancho helped me find Mole and offered me everything they sold there. Pancho invited me back and told me about the hot food they sold on weekends. Pancho needs to train everyone in the store. I came in looking to buy Mole and spend maybe $10 but spent $100! Thanks Pancho, will come back!"
"Always so friendly. That goes along way , the food is the best . You won’t be disappointed."
"They have everything I ever need for all my Spanish recipes. The man behind the meat counter is always so sweet to my family and I. The older woman who hangs around the front often (might be the owner) is such a sweetheart too. Love this place for our grocery needs."
"The tamales are not as authentic as I wanted them to be. The salsa was good. Heat was there. The rice tasted like I made it I it out of a boxed seasoning pack. The masa is horrible!!! If you are looking for authentic tamales, this is not the place. The masa was bland, dry, and I could make it better myself, a white girl, taught by her former Mexican family. Horrible. I will go to east Chicago, as I usually do, when I want tamales."
