Reviews of Mental Health Resources
"The reviews about this place are spot on. They outsource their billing to some company in a different state, and I've never seen anything run so poorly. I supposedly owe them a significant amount of money for services that come down to improper billing. I've had a dozen billing issues just like it already, and each one has had to be painstakingly resolved. I've had to jump through so many hoops just to force them to fix their own mistakes. There is also an extremely high turnover rate within the business. My therapist has been wonderful from day one, and she finally couldn't take the constant issues anymore. She went to a different practice, and I happily followed her. It was a seamless transition and a glaring difference from dealing with MHR for the past couple of years. Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere."
"This place (Poplar location) is absolutely awful. Initially, I was seen by Adam Nanaa at the Judicial Dr. location. He was wonderful. However, after negotiations broke down, he left, and suddenly, my prescription needed a prior authorization that no one could handle but him. So, I had to go to the Poplar location to see another provider for Med management and couldn’t use my remaining scripts. They scheduled me with Harriett Westbrook, and she is absolutely horrible. Everything about her questioning insinuated that I intended to abuse the medication, and despite a 14 year history of my medicine being prescribed to me and my very professional background, she insisted on documentation from the initial assessment, while intermittently saying that my initial assessment was old and asking whether I had a more recent one. That’s completely incompetent. Completely. No one takes diagnostic assessments again, especially when they’ve been under continued care and medication managed to a proper, long-standing, accurate dose. I am simply mind blown by the idea! Further, Harriet was rude, made snippy remarks, and just overall gave the impression of incompetence. Initially, I thought it was because she was new and nervous, and I wanted to give her a chance, but her offering me what is essentially a placebo to force me to start from scratch and build up to what I currently take is ludicrous. It’s a money grab, because the client would have to see her monthly for many, many months (if she prescribed at all, see conversation referenced above), while suffering unmedicated. This is more personal info than I ever wanted to put online, but if it can help one person avoid the leave loss at work, irritation, and frustration that I feel, it’ll be worth it."
"Read the reviews - they are rightfully bad. The provider my daughter saw was absolutely wonderful; all we could have hoped for. Five stars and much love for her. However, the people at the front desk are standoffish, and I am being kind. To be blunt, they are downright rude and not a good representation of the practice. MHR's billing department is one of the worst I've ever encountered. They threaten to withhold valuable mental health services if your bill is not paid. Even if you give them proof they already paid it. To me, it is a dangerous practice to withhold mental health treatment from individuals who clearly need it. I'm glad we were okay but I feel for others who may not be so lucky."
"I cant thank Shelia, Olivia, Neil and especially Christy for helping me get back in charge of my life. I didn't know what I needed but I knew I was miserable. After 3 visits Christy was able to identify my issues and concerns. I was put in IOP which I was very hesitant to do but it was such a blessing. The program educated me on anxiety, depression, irrational thinking and much much more. The groups were so helpful and gave me so much insight on not just my issues but helped me understand issues others face. The program is a fine tuned machine that uses every moment there to help their patients. I'm grateful and proud to have had the opportunity to attend IOP and continue therapy at MHR. I use EVERY opportunity to talk about mental health when the situation presents itself since I've been through IOP. It may help just one person get the help they need, without realizing it was needed."
"If I could give them zero stars I would. I have been a patient there since 2018. This year has been one for the books. Staff is constantly being moved around; they do not call or email patients back; paperwork is being lost; and doctors are refusing to complete paperwork that they lost and it is required for my job in order for me keep receiving benefits. I have called the headquarters and they have not returned a call or email either. If I have no benefits, how do they get paid and how do I receive proper treatment and medications."
